elle-b-x Ricky Gervais is now my favourite comedian after watching this!! However it isnt for the faint hearted, so so funny.
mariellealien I honestly was bored out of my mind. His delivery is very full of himself and even though I appreciate the effort made to poke fun at himself and that, it just never really makes me laugh. Not my sense of humour, I guess.
Movielover Truth This is probably going to be a tough show for some but Gervais's perspective, crafted with his almost common sense humor was a fun ride for me.He seemed a bit tired, and the stage was too hot as is almost always the case.He steers mostly from politics, which is a refreshing change. He does brush past a few political hits though.Comedy is tough and it has been taking a beating, especially in the US where it is ALL politics ALL the time. Comedy has become a weapon in the USA and it is rotting at the core. Gervais uses comedy in a much deeper and even nostalgic way. His reasoning to make light of bad situations is true. What have we got if we haven't got humor and laughs? And what the heck is wrong with people? Yep.If you are not easily offended you'll like this show. If you are, you might want to give it a pass. Gervais has always been one of my favorites. I really enjoyed this show.
Suzie Bogus One thing that was widely noted after Ricky's last gig hosting the Golden Globes was his lack of originality. Almost every joke he made was recycled from his previous time hosting. Maybe use a few synonyms to replace words without changing the basic joke, but otherwise nothing new. His new Netflix special continues the steep d i wnslope. Just some long, overblown cheap shots at soft targets like trans people (a bit that would go over big with the Trump crowd. My, how courageous), or extended whines about people on social media who had the audacity to disagree with the megamillionaire. Ricky needs to take a few years off and recharge his batteries. He used to have a sense of humor. Perhaps he can rediscover it.
