Reviews

Thy Davideth I hate reviewing these kinds of movies. If they do nothing more than JUST entertain then my reviews come out boring and gay. Well here we go........ Scarecrows is an action horror movie. Where the film shines is the gore and action and some of its horror elements. The gore effects are primitive and great. CGI sucks long penis. Let downs are the story. The mystique surrounding the scarecrows was meaningless and stupid. Sure they are creepy, but if there is no REASON then what is the f@$&ing point. "Oh look. Scarecrows come to life without reason. Oh I'm scared." Shut up you p@$$y. Anyways, this was a fun creepy, gory movie even if the concept was retarded.
Seth_Rogue_One and equally annoyingThis is pure and simple a piece of turd caught on tapeWith terrible acting and most of them failing miserably at being macho Swat/Bankrobbers on the run (or something like that, they had a lot of money with them, didn't really care why)I was expecting something in the line of Texas Chainsaw Massacre or something but yeah it's not really it's a flat out boring movie with very little "demonic demons" as one of the characters refer to the scarecrows in the movieI don't really know what they were to be honest and I don't care cause this was 80 minutes of my life I could have spend doing something far more entertaining, like reading the list of ingredients on a box of cat-food. Which also would be a lot scarier I'm sure.
Gatto Nero I remember seeing the R-Rated Version of this film way back in the 80's and I just recently saw the Unrated Version on DVD and my view on it has not changed. It is still one of those films that has not diminished in it's attempt to scare. It is still one of my favorites scary movies of all time. The creepy music score by Terry Plumeri was just right. It made the movie even more creepier. The actors were somewhat amateurish but I believe that added to film instead of diminishing it. We can just look at these characters and not associate them with high-profile stars. we really don't know these people, even as the actor they are, and that really adds to it.I like how main star Ted Vernon, as 'Corbin', literally takes a backseat and really lets co-stars Michael Simms as 'Curry' and B.J Turner as 'Bert' take the spotlight.Simm's 'Curry' reminded me of another actor in the way he played 'Curry'. I'm talking about Joe Pilato who did 'Rhodes' in George Romero's Day of the Dead (1985) I'm thinking Simms was thinking of Joe Pilato's 'Rhodes' in his interpretation of 'Curry'.A lot of people complain that it was filmed way to dark but I believe that just added to the film. I believe all scary/horror films should have some darkness to them. makes them a bit more scary per say. And they are best viewed at nighttime and in the dark to begin with. Brings out the frightened little child in all of us.The film is more atmosphere than anything. The creepy cornfields with the even creepier scarecrows just hanging around, the eerie(empty?)house in the middle of nowhere (reminded me of Blair Witch house). The night-vision scenes add to the creepiness (a la The Silence of the Lambs sort of way)All in all a good scary movie. It deserves at least one viewing . Horror fans won't be disappointed. And besides, a movie can't be all bad if at the end , the dog gets full name credit as himself! LOL(Dax Vernon as Dax the Dog) And appears to be the only survivor!? Or is he? Hehehehe....
swk845 Maybe I went in expecting too much. I read a review of this film on here where the guy gave it a 10/10. He stated that it was much better than any Halloween or Friday the 13th any day. I admit, most Friday the 13th movies blow. This movie was equally horrific. It is slow paced, dark, and not filled with many quality kill scenes. It also has an ending that will make you want to blow yourself up with a grenade. There has to be a better way to end the movie. Give me the budget for this film and I will at least generate a legit 5/10 movie. I have seen hundreds of cheesy horror films, especially ones from the 80's. Comparatively this one ranks way low on my list.
