An exciting game in which stolen cars are driven through shop windows to aid large-scale looting before the police arrive. For Tommy, it's a business, but for Billy and Jo, it's a labour of love. As the competition between Tommy and Billy grows more fierce, the stakes become higher and the "shopping" trips increasingly risky.

Jamie_Seaton what a terrible piece of film this is. the look, the acting, the pace and the action is appalling. a 5.3 rating on IMDb is way to high for this. i've never liked Sadie Frost so no change there but what the hell is going on with Jude Law !!! he's usually very good but he seems like a spoilt little rich boy trying to be a bad man ha ha ha how terrible.Paul W.S Anderson has made some really sh*t films and i actually think this has to be his worst. what must he be thinking in Pre-production. i'd love to know. i have no sympathy for you.the film is basically sort of set in a future where every teen near enough are out stealing and joy riding cars, thats it really. plus a rivalry against Jude Law's character and Sean Pertwee's character. please believe me that this film isn't worth the purchase at all.......... 1/10..........j.d Seaton
TheHande Shopping is a gritty and gripping film about the youth of Britain going awry. The film combines Paul W. S. Anderson's impeccable taste for audio-visuals with some of the best writing and actor-performances seen throughout his career. In comparison to Anderson's more Americanized works, the thing that sets Shopping apart in a nice way is the Urban-British feel of the film. As well everyone from Jude Law to Sean Pertwee perform brilliantly and authentically in this fun and well paced if pessimistic picture. The film avoids cliché by sticking to what's important to the story. The period references undoubtedly age the film but it seems that the film enjoys almost a kind of vintage quality because of it.Shopping is a film that one ought to see even if one displays no apparent interest in action-films. This is something authentic and refreshing.
dodgee_69 Jude Law and Sadie Frost star in a film that could of been. Shopping maintains some nice themes and story lines throughout, but is lacking the finishing touch that turns a low budget flop into a cult classic. The script lacks any real originality and creativity, instead opting for attempts at capturing the attention of youth cultures by trying to sum up all of them in one film - this is never going to work. This is a good film, with a lot of potential, but there are a lot of things missing and a lot of things put in that shouldn't be there - Sean Pertwee playing basketball on top of a high rise building just doesn't feel quite right. Combined with a pretty poor performance from Jude Law, even Frost is better, who is generally unconvincing as a troubled tearaway on a downward spiral. He's far too pretty and doesn't have the edge that you want his character to have. Not worth seeing really, but if there are any aspiring, young and creative British film makers out there who want to remake it, i would definitely love to see what they could do.
kickinghigh This really wasn't good!If you are only buying Jude Law movies for him then this is one of the best to own! He is incredibly cute in it! His character however doesn't fit in with the 'gang' (of 3 people...) he is in with in the movie. Sadie Frost puts on a dreadful accent, Jason Isaacs and Marianne Faithful may aswell not have been in it...hence it was a 'blink and miss' scene for both of them!Sean Pertwee wasn't that great either...he is capable of so much more and this just seemed a bit of a waste. Sean Bean was only in it for 10 minutes if that and then curiously he is never seen again...when the plot would have suggested it would be inevitable he would return. The movie had a frustrating ending and there seemed to be no ties pulled together (sorry if im vague!)...but if you watch it you'll know what I mean!! I'd give it a 3/10, only for Jude Law fans I'd say...mainly because he's the only appealing actor in it!
