I am a massive fan of the original and this movie riffs on the satirical themes. This is a watered down version, with neither tension nor shock yet, inexplicably, it works. It was great fun on a comedy level. I can't help liking the movie, it is good natured fun. The movie is cheesy, which helps to emphasise how easily the original could have failed in the hands of a lesser director. In a world of bland, generic, wannabe kool Hollywood blockbusters for retarded teens, this movie is ray of sunshine in a soulless Hollywood movie world. Acting: so-so / CGI: unconvincing / Monsters: poor / Movie: fun! Throw in some sassy communal nudity to offend the saddo prudes and movie is complete. As an atheist I was impressed how well done the religion was, the actress did amazingly well to come over as so likable as a religious nutjob.

The movie started out on a more or less positive note, even with the bad acting. Even Rico's character was a little bit off even though they used the same actor.Special effects are mediocre, although that is something that I would have been able to get over if it wasn't for the bad parts of the film. There were a few funny scenes with the constant federation adverts with the good old "Would you like to know more?". However this wasn't enough to redeem the film.By the end you realize what this movie is really about, pure religious propaganda, that sincerely disgusted me as I have always loved the original as he great satire it was, but this... just awful... Was this movie funded by the Vatican?

I really enjoyed the first film. The second, well, after the second you know that the third one will suck big time. Take a look for yourself. Extremely low budget, ridiculous story, bad acting, ugly CGI... Now, Edward Neumeier who wrote all Robocop films, including TV series and more, brought us this despicable gem, which was... spiced with Christianity... wtf? Casper Van Dien, who is still appearing in these straight to DVD film, you can see that his acting career has failed. None of the actors did a good job, even Amanda Donohoe, she was just there for a tough chick commander role. There's nothing special to say about this film... really nothing, except that pretty much liked the part where chosen solders are launched in their "Marauder" armors and kicking the s**t out of bugs. Other things... nothing. For the end, the ugly thing - the Christianity. I don't understand... that was unnecessary in this film. Let alone in some futuristic film. There is a God in universe, we must marry in church, blah blah... That really irritated me. We also had a conflict between theist and atheist and in the end, the theist wins... whoopee! But, the theist chick was hot... so, I wasn't that irritated. So, 59% of the film comes down that there is a God in space... I really don't recommend this film to anyone. Well, if you are a Christian, you'll love it. Maybe.

I really only have three words to say about this movie---Really??? Seriously!!!! Really!!! That's all you can really say. I tend to be really forgiving with movies but this is bad I mean really bad it is I have to say the worst movie I have ever seen. I didn't know it was possible but over the years Casper Van Dean has actually gotten worse over the years. Is that possible? Please spare you eyes and brain the torture of watching this movie. This is one that should be looked at but Mystery Science Theater 2000. The script was bad the acting was bad the special effects were.....OK at best. If you are a spy and want to get info from your captive, make him watch this movie I promise you he will tell you anything you want to know and things you don't want to know then ask for death.
