Lisa Templeton begins a new job as a cleaner at High Hopes Hospital, a mental institution in Amityville, Long Island. Initially delighted to get the job, Lisa soon realises that all is not as it seems. Intimidated by staff and the psychotic ramblings of the patients, she is further unnerved by apparent supernatural occurrences on the night shift. To preserve her sanity Lisa must uncover the mysterious history of the institution and it's inmates. But the truth is far more terrifying than she could ever imagine.

This movies just seem like their directed by someone who has a problem with understanding horror but also doesn't know how to direct properly in general and it's an overall once again bad movie in general. If you liked some of the previous movies? You might like this one as well but for those who really don't like this movies? Just skip this one as well. (0/10)

jacobjohntaylor1 This is the tenth part to The Amityville series The Amityville horror is better. Amityville II possession is better. Amityville 3 the demon is better. Amityville 4 the evil escapes is better. The Amityville cure is better. Amityville it's about time is better. Amityville a new generation is better.The Amityville dollhouse is better. The AmityvIlle death house is better. And that is an awful movie. This movie has an awful story line. The acting is awful. The ending is awful. It is not scary. It a very disappointing sequel. Do not wast your money. And do not wast your time. Do not see this awful movie. I need more lines and I am running out of thing to say.

tron2005 I only rented this movie from my local video shop because another customer said it was pretty good. Last time I take any notice of another customer.IMDb has rated this movie at 2.6 and I'm thinking that's 2.6 too much for this movie. Should be more like a -2.6 to be more fitting.About half way into the movie I started to get the feeling of similarities with the "Shutter Island" concept where the main character (Lisa), might just actually be an inmate of the asylum where she's working as a cleaner.88 minutes of my time wasted when I could had been sitting outside watching the grass grow. That would had been more entertaining!

damoeel As I am currently on a trek trying to find some decent horror/thrillers I have been scouring the web high and low for movies that fit into that genre and after a quick read of the synopsis of this I thought I would give it a try. I actually lasted 47 minutes, after wanting to turn it off after 8 minutes then again at the 14, 23 and 31 minute marks I could not harm my television or my eyes anymore as to be brutally honest this is just plain bad. I have shown a lot of patience in my quest to find some decent horror movies but I could not bring myself to watch anymore as the acting was atrocious although I did learn more about cleaning products than what the actual movie was supposed to be about so I guess that is a plus. So my recommendation?? don't even consider watching this as the 1/10 I gave it is more than I wanted to give it.
