destructerator I've heard things much more shocking than what these comedians seem to think is so taboo. I've been all over the internet. I've seen and heard worse things.Maybe this film would be more funny to someone still sensitive to this type of material. Nearly every delivery of the joke is the same dull poo and incest joke. It's only worth a chuckle when a comedian gives a genuinely unique version of it, or has exceptionally good delivery. I didn't hear any versions that were racial. I get the feeling that would be taking it too far for the people being interviewed here, which is hypocritical. The joke gets its humor from how offensive it is, supposedly. In fact, most of the versions I laughed at weren't particularly "offensive" compared to the rest.Steven Wright, Lewis Black, George Carlin, and Sarah Silverman were the only comedians I enjoyed.
billcr12 The title refers to the punchline of a famous dirty joke which has been around for many years. The set up is usually, a guy walks into a talent agent's office, which is followed up with the most disgusting series of bad taste lines, to be ended with the fact that the family is called the aristocrats; a most ironic twist. The documentary asks several well known comedians to deliver their version of the joke. Same are creative, and others lame. I love Gilbert Gottfried for his warped mind. He began his act by saying that he was late due to a connecting flight at the Empire State Building. He was booed because it was shortly after the 911 attacks in New York. He continued right into a vicious and vulgar take on the joke; classic Gilbert. Sarah Silverman is also funny. She puts herself in the family and includes an incident of being raped by Joe Franklin while waiting to appear on his show. Apparently, Mr. Franklin was not amused, and threatened to sue Ms. Silverman. Overall, it's hit and miss, and at only 89 minutes, it is entertaining enough to recommend.
Jogilius You know how it really takes value off a joke when the teller laughs at the joke him/herself? Well, imagine looking at this for one and a half hours? Try to include the fact that the joke is really bad and that half of the content is people commenting their reactions to other people telling this lousy joke? Well, that's what this movie is all about, and that results in the most boring and least thought-provoking piece of crap I've ever seen on a DVD.If you like to see Hollywood people talking true obscenities, you might get something out of this, but otherwise I suggest skipping this. In any case a couple of minutes from the beginning (or in fact from any part) of the film already show what it's all about.I've rated 280 films on IMDb so far, and this is the only one I've ever given a 1/10.
jcba17406@blueyonder.co.uk The Marguess De Sade talked about eating excrement as a sexual experiment, at least he had genuine philosophical curiosity. This film is utterly pretentious excess. It is about two tricksters fooling egoistical comics into believing the movie about a inane joke has merit. It is the worst of all films because it does not justify the money it cost to make. It is akin to the Kings New Clothes, if you can convince people that they might seem foolish if they disagree with a stupid proposition, then they are likely to accept it. The real joke of this piece of trash is that the comedians agreed to take part. No doubt to there later regret. You time is better spent reading TV listings.
