michaeljackson-68011 The Coen's most endearing film perhaps, the Big Lebowski was unappreciated upon release but since has garnered a massive following. Jeff Bridges plays the ultimate slacker- Dude whose sole purpose in life is to laze around in his room smoking pot or go bowling with his strange friends- a militant gun lover played by John Goodman and a meek fellow portrayed by Steve Buscemi. One day he is mistaken for another man (a very wealthy man) with the same name by a batch of inept crooks who take his rug forcefully. What follows is a bizarre, offbeat tale of mistaken identity and revenge. This is a typical offbeat Coen's film ably supported by Julianne Moore who, for once, chooses to tackle a funny role (and has a hilariously surreal dance sequence with Bridges).

Sam AlMan A care-free, broke, and calm Lebowski (the dude) get tangled with The Big wealthy Lebowski.. this is the story!! but then many sides used or took advantage of the poor care-free Lebowski who have friends that less to be said they raise the flames of the already lighted fire! .. It is funny and at some points hilarious. I didn't get the purpose of the few characters in the movie but in overall the few main characters (dude and his friends) were funny in their way of looking at things!.. I can't say that I enjoyed the whole movie but I can say that there are very few scenes that worth saving for repeat watch!!

prince_vlad After seeing this movie i sat and think abit if I saw a movie or I starred at a garbage can which was stinking the more you stayed near it. The movie seems like one in whcih important roles are held by no name actors and the insignificant by the best one (Bridges, Moore, Buscemi, Goodman). What do you get ? Three losers, one more loser than the next one, are playing big boys, except the part where they were supposed to look like big boye. They look like embarrasment walkers and nothing more. I wondered how the hell Bridges could accept such an idiot script. It's a lost of time. Man I saw bad movies but this one takes the cake.

cantona-32610 This is one of the best movies ever made. After watching it for the first time I liked it but when I watched it again I just simply loved it. It's just one funny ride from beginning to the end. You can watch it as many times as you like and still find it funny. Jeff Bridges at his best with perfect John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julianne Moore and others. Coen brothers just gave us something rather special and you just can't go wrong with this movie. It's hard for me to understand why some people giving it only one star as it's clearly 9-10 stars movie,but as Dude said: Yeah well,you know that's just like your opinion man.
