elshikh4 It was 1995. One of the summer days, when the sun is shining, the air is nice and everything is cool.. seems to be cool. But not always what's visible can be the real thing. So don't be deceived my friend. Because fate had its own way to turn around anything anytime anywhere..At 3 P.M I turned my TV on. And it was a foolish move which I regretted it till now... It was a national holiday and I expected an American old musical with all the fun, the babies, the good numbers and the sexy dancing. But all what I've got is an outstanding torture, a forever injured soul, and one hell of a bad memory. Yes, it was the unforgettable execration : (The Boys In Blue) ! Can anybody stand the British comedy?? Not me of course ! Can anybody bear the pain of this movie in particular ?? I didn't find one !! Anyway, I wanted a lovable musical and I had a smash in the guts ! The memory is still killing me and it was very painful indeed, so no wonder at all when you'll find it in my list of the worst movies ever, at the top of it, as the least thing to do ! After that, I cut short my relationship with our national TV for good, not because its dumb censorship, its poor film library, nor idiotic programs...but also because its own selections that became too stupid to stand just like this lousy movie itself.
MetalMiike The utter, utter stupidity of this film is legendary. It is in fact known in the UK (to the tiny, tiny, number of people that have ever seen or even remember it) as the worst British film ever. The cast is tiny, Cannon and Ball, God forgive them (no really, they may well go to hell for this) don't even look ashamed! And when I tell you that a major plot device involves... SPOILER WARNING... a van disguised as a flying saucer THAT ACTUALLY FOOLS PEOPLE, you will know the level this film is pitching to. The only thing about the original was Will Hay, and he is very funny. The only thing about this is that someone lost about 75p making it. Hell, that's what? $1.50?
hoggers-1 I remember going to see this as a kid and at the time (i was 11) I loved it. Having seen it again recently I'm sorry to say that I again loved it. I know it's a bad film but there's something about it (or that period) that fills me with nostalgia and I suppose makes me smile. Ask a Policeman is of course a classic and far superior, however I'm afraid i like them both.....sorry
hugh1971 Utter tripe - a pointless remake of Will Hay's superb 'Ask A Policeman' starring the unfunny and charmless Cannon and Ball - a straight man and a 'comedian' whose one joke consists of snapping his braces. Don't bother.
