noravolkov Hugh Jackman stars as a time traveling doctor bent on saving his wife from cancer. This film is mind- bending and some scenes are awe inspiring even but it will need a strong will of curiosity to sit through this film. Which isn't to say that the film is bad- far from it, but the characterization is poor and Aronofsky shoots with an auteur-ish, off beat mindset which isn't linear nor structured and may confuse some viewers. However, this is a brave attempt at making a thinking man's science fiction and as stated earlier- some scenes are quite astounding, and for these reasons alone The Fountain deserves a recommendation.
thisanant I was once a fan of mystery genre and I watched this due to the name of Hugh Jackman . This was fantastic . No wonder it was commercially unsuccessful . One of the best and one of a kind . Amazing story , great acting and direction . It is visually stunning and emotionally fulfilling . Just don't expect a mindless blockbuster and you will be rewarded .
Tweetienator The Fountain is the one movie that made me aware of the existence of a director named Darren Aronofsky. He is one of those directors who make even the best skilled actors better and he inspired (or directed) Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz to make some of their best and most remarkable performances in their career. (I will never forget how Aronofsky reanimated the actor Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler). The Fountain is fantastic, poetic, truly creative and a trip into a dimension of movie making only very rare movies ever reach. Unbelievable good. Truly outstanding. Best of the best.
safihabhab this movie is a fraud , a disaster , it barely deserves 3 stars , so corrupted , destroyed the laws of physics and nature , i bet that if Einstein was alive at the time this film was made he would hang himself to death despite the religion nonsense this movie is related to,there are 3 stories which the movie is telling about , in which I've been waiting the whole time so i can relate and at the end i couldn't , nonsense all the time , you feel yourself lost , and this guy in the bubble with the tree floating all over the space .a mix of mythology and crap can define this movie please do not waste your time
