Time Saver First of all, if you've already watched the trailer then this movie will hardly be interesting to you.One of the things I really hate is when I see a good idea ruined by a below-average realization. And this is one such case. The idea is very original, which is very hard to achieve nowadays. The acting is decent, even though the main actor is not the right guy for this role. The plot is mysterious and well designed, if we ignore certain cliché and predictable moments. There are two stories here. The second one begins in the middle of the film and fills the holes of the first story. The mystery unfolds and you wonder what will happen next. And then the movie is over. Just like that. This story has no ending! No point!Given that, this is an average movie at best. Considering that this is something unfinished, I recommend that you skip this one and save yourself some time.
Bliss Quest I started watching this film a few years ago, and didn't finish it because my mind was saying, "There are only a few predictable scenarios here, so why bother!" And so I skipped it almost midway. I decided to give it a go again because I actually forgot I had seen it before, and I must say I was impressed all around. I gave the film 8 stars instead of 7 because of the ending, which is exactly why others may find it unsatisfying. A well written, and very plausible thriller, if you are patient enough to stick with it.
blanche-2 "The Hidden Face" or "La cara oculta" is a South American film directed by Andres Baz. He is a former television director who has done some short films and two other features, Roa and Santanas. He co-wrote this script. I think he's a major talent. The film concerns a Spanish conductor, Adrian (Quim Gutiérrez), who, with his girlfriend Belen (Clara Lago) has rented a home from a German woman who is out of the country for a time. One day, Belen disappears. Her clothes are gone as well as other things. The police can't find her. They suspect Adrian may have had a hand in her disappearance, but they have no proof.Adrian is somewhat of a womanizer, so in short order he meets a waitress, Fabiana (Martina Garcia) and brings her to the house, where she eventually moves in. She isn't entirely comfortable there, though. That's all I'll say. This is one hell of a great movie; the second half will keep you on the edge of your seat. I almost couldn't watch it, it made me so nervous. You're not sure if it's a horror film, a ghost story, a straightforward drama, a murder mystery, and when you find out, it's even more mesmerizing. Baz does a beautiful job building the tension. The acting, particularly from Clara Lago, is superb. Gutiérrez will keep you guessing as to Adrian's involvement in Belen's disappearance. Martina Garcia as the vain, sexy, manipulative Fabiana is wonderful. She and Lago are stunningly beautiful women.I can't recommend this highly enough. Fresh, entertaining, and compelling. I hope to see lots more from this director.
Bob An I started to watch this film by chance, as I had nothing better to do and I was really surprised how good it was!The beginning of the movie may be a bit slow and at one point I asked myself if this would be good or not, but then the shift of the stories and the beginning of 'the missing girl story' really starts to make this movie interesting. As the story of the girl develops, you begin to wonder what happened to her and then the twist with the German woman and her secret immediately make you realize what has happened and then the movie gets really interesting.I must say it was really good, from the beginning to the last second! I was hesitant between nine and ten, but will go with nine! All the actors, especially the leading male were really good! And the story too! Great thriller!
