serena-bt Besides the poorly written plot of the movie; what an unrealistic, annoying storyline between the dad and his daughter's friend. Also, such a bad performance by Jessica Lowndes... I got a headache from all the eyerolling and sighing. Not insulting her, just making a judgement based on this movie. The fact that I have been rating movies for many years know on imdb and this is my first review says enough.
Mike Francis I don't know where to begin with this movie, "awful" is too nice a word to say about this. Now I wasn't expecting this movie to be good, but at least bearable. We are tricked into thinking this is a Bruce Willis film. The cover will tell you, he's lead with an all star cast, including John Cusack. We also see 50 cent in this movie, albeit for 10 seconds. This is not the case. Our lead/hero is Jason Patrick, I see now why we had to be tricked. Patrick hasn't made a good film in his entire career. Willis is hardly in this film, Cusack even less and blink and you'll miss him, 50 Cent.We know Bruce Willis will do just about anything for a pay-check, and we fall for it, time and time again because of our love for die hard. I'm shocked to see John Cusack in this awful movie, as he is usually more selective with his films. The main problem with this film, no-one is believable with their performances. With the exception of Jessica Lowdes, who although had too much screen time for a character with little importance, gave us something to like about this film, (not just her looks). Too many cliché's, poor acting, poor storyline. This movie is a joke. A movie no-one will remember. Review 2/10
pensman Since the budget was listed at 18 million, I figure Bruce got two million, Cusack a million, and Patric maybe 250,000. Everyone else probably worked for scale; Gia Mantegna and Jessica Lowndes must have paid to be in it as they certainly can't act. I suggest you watch this with some sort of counter in hand to keep up with the body count. Most bad guys killed by gun only than in any other flic I have ever watched. No explosives except for the opening and that doesn't really count. It just serves as the reason the Willis and Patric characters hate each other. Basically a mindless blood bath or a very poor copy of the Taken series. No redeeming qualities here.
Schatz87 Straight-forward shoot 'em up thriller with few surprises. Soon after a call with his daughter, the car mechanic (and retired super-assassin), Jason Patric discovers his daughter has vanished. Thus, Jason buys a flight ticket and travels to the city of her college after which follows a hunt for the villain/s that took his daughter. While the storyline and acting in general was passable, the unknown star Jason Patric did a great job as the charismatic lead character. Somewhat uninspired acting by both John Cusack and Bruce Willis. The shooting scene in the lobby near the end was straight out of the Matrix, aside from the fact it was slightly less realistic. An altogether decent thriller with a storyline that's not disturbingly stupid.
