After WWII Comisarul Moldovan spent years as a political prisoner of the communist regime. The favorite entertainment of the Russian Colonel in charge of the prison was to have the inmates play Russian Roulette. Only his unbelievable luck and survivor spirit helped Moldovan live through his detention. Out of the prison the ex-policeman joins an international Russian Roulette illegal gaming circuit. In late 70's faith brings him to a Central European town where Goldberg, an old acquaintance of his is organizing an "improved" version of the game where two opponents are shooting each other. Step by step Moldovan meets lots of familiar faces, both friends and enemies. It looks like the whole Bucharest's underworld from the 40's chose to meet here.

Kirpianuscus second part of Ringul. final parts of Moldovan/Miclovan series. or only the isolation of Sergiu Nicolaescu in his personal universe. it is easy to define it as a bad movie. many scenes are ridiculous, the acting is not exactly decent, the dialogues - fake and the script seems missing. different events in an exotic kilt of clichés. and only explanation is the desire of director to end his work , out of political pressure, in his manner, ignoring the public or critics. a kind of revenge. or only similarities with Ludwig II of Bavaria. not the eccentricity is the problem but the absence of a coherent story. Russian roulette and Zaraza. Moldovan and entire his universe in an Utopian Bucarest . Comunist jail and the past as clay for a kind of success. the fury to say all without create a message. result - a sad film . because it has not identity. only status of jokes of an old stand up performer from different period, front to an indifferent public.

flo_rin108 Unnecessary, a sequel that only brings dishonor to the source material (the original movie wasn't a masterpiece anyway). It's full of bloopers and goofs and untalented actors and actresses, the plot is practically inexistent. But worst of all, are the stolen ideas, stolen from the movie The Deer Hunter, a movie that came out almost 40 years ago, he probably thought he could fool us, he probably managed with some of his older fans. One of the worst movies by Sergiu Nicolaescu, if not the worst, he made it just to add a few more couple of bucks to his pocket, which is a shame. He was probably too old and unfit to direct at that point but it's still no excuse. I do not recommend it to anyone.

Tache Farfuridi by gosh, i never saw anything more ridiculous! the poor man is a goner... gone are the times of his Miclovan-Moldovan glory! cant he see he has no grasp of his job anymore? this movies is at the level of a kiddies game, who dress up in mom and dad's clothes and make-believe they are grown-ups! and when they have no means, they say: "hey lets just say that we were doing it!" that hilarious attempt to disguise Bucharest center into a western city! the ludicrous Russian roulette, and the anti-riot squad that comes in the end! :))) its no wonder the audiences were curious to see this monstrous piece of freakish idiocy - as the commenter Gheorghe Popescu, aka Pashpix, namely Adrian Epure, says. This stuff is as attractive as a two-heads calf in the funfair. Comical in a sadly demented way...

Gheorghe Popescu In Romania, Sergiu Nicolaescu's most recent detective flick revolving around the legendary character Commissioner Moldovan gathered the largest audience among all Romanian movies screened in 2008. "Supravietuitorul" ("The Survivor") was watched by almost 26,000 people and cashed over 300,000 RON at the box office. So, the public says it's the best movie of the year. Nicolaescu's movie is followed by "Restul e tacere" ("The Rest is Silence") by Nae Caranfil, Romania's nominee for an Oscar in the best foreign language film category. The best part of the movie is the part taking place in the 1940's Bucharest, the legend of the famous couple Cristian Vasile (singer, a VIP of the time) and Zarada (a gypsy girl). I recommend the movie to everybody.
