Debra Messing does a great, actually she does a fantastic job of playing a looser. Her character in this film is kind of a looser. The character Messing plays has a job and fantastic looks and all that, but that doesn't mean you can't be looser and her character is just that a looser and she does a fantastic job of playing that character so I give her props for that. Which is where the one star I gave this film comes from. Now the rest of the movie was not good, her romance with Dermot Mulroney to me was not developed at all. The movie it's self was put together kind of clunky. Her and Mulroney I'm sorry had no chemistry and the rest of the characters who even cares. I did not care for this film except to say that Debra Messing did a great job of playing a total looser character.

Story goes like this Kat Ellis (Messing), who returns to her parents' London home for her sister's wedding is afraid of confronting her ex fiancé, who dumped her two years before, she hires a male escort Nick (Mulroney) to pose as her new boyfriend. And how Kat and Nick come together forms the rest of the story.its good how the characters are introduced and interwoven. The best part is that of Dermot Mulroney. Wow, first of all he is really gorgeous. Next, his role understands women so well. I am the girl who liked Made of honor, Naughty or nice (2012), Holiday in Handcuffs. If you liked those then you will like this movie as well.

Maybe it's because the two leads are fast approaching middle age, but I actually enjoyed parts of this chick flick, directed by a chick. Make no mistake: it is pure fantasy, much like PRETTY WOMAN and MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING, but I was able to go along with most of it thanks to solid acting by Debra Messing of "Will and Grace" fame. Here, she plays a neurotic and lonely female whose kid sister (Amy Adams) is about to get married. When Messing's character finds out her ex-beau is to be the best man, she hires a pricey male escort to pose as her boyfriend. Typical hijinks ensue, although there is a dramatic undercurrent to this fluffy plot. Various secrets are revealed, and they ain't all funny. For reasons best known to the writer(s), the movie is set in England, which for my money was a mistake. But then, I am not a female, whose gender I suspect will find the setting romantic. We've seen it all before, of course, but keep an eye on Messing, who gives her woebegone character depth and dimension. Dermot Mulroney gets to stand around and look elegant, but I didn't buy the unexpected romance angle. Veteran character actor Peter Egan steals all his scenes as Messing's loving stepdad, and Holland Taylor plays her patented insufferable family matriarch. Strictly for the ladies.

The biggest problem with this predictable chick flick is the horrible miscasting of the female lead. NOBODY is going to believe a story with Messing as the femme fatale that is going to make the gigolo give up his career. While she has comic talents, she unfortunately has the body of an anorexic 12-year-old. This simply isn't a role she is able to pull off.The rest of the cast seemed to be able to pull off their shallowly-defined roles, but I don't know if they kept it up through the whole film as I was unable to endure the torture and bailed after the first hour.
