RealChristian14 The new Kendrick Brothers' film "The War Room" is a humor-filled Christian movie that provides the inspiration message of the power of prayer. It stars first-time actress in Priscilla Shirer, who happens to be a Christian preacher, together with former football player-turned actor,T.C. Stallings. The story primarily deals with the husband-and-wife Elizabeth and Tony Jordan, who works as real estate agent and pharmaceutical salesman, that are currently undergoing marital problems.Tony is introduced to be verbally abusive husband particularly to his wife and works a lot to the point of not spending much time with his his child Danielle. Then,Elizabeth deals with a client named Clara in one of her house sales.Clara introduces to Elizabeth having a closet room wherein he spends time with God in prayer and tells her the importance of having a relationship with God.Elizabeth takes this message and begins to form a closet room of her own at her own and she starts doing her prayers as well as having a relationship with God in order to save their marriage and to address her marital difficulties particularly her relationship with Tony.Things begin to change in the process that made Tony become a better person both as a husband and a father. The End!!!No question that it definitely provides the viewer an inspiration message of prayer and having a relationship with God.The movie tells the viewer that prayer is extremely necessary in times of trials and challenges. This will turn off some viewers particularly non-Christians and people who do not believe in the power of prayer. These same people may view the transformation of Tony as unrealistic considering that he changed simply from being verbally abusive and adulterous to becoming a loving husband as well as a caring father only through the prayers that Elizabeth and Clara have made in their respective closet rooms. These same viewers want to see more such as Tony and Elizabeth go through marriage counseling and numerous dialogues to commit to their marriage. To them, prayer wound not be the simple solution to their marital problems and difficulties.Besides, was prayer enough too to make Elizabeth a more understanding wife?Being a Christian,I personally believe that prayer is an effective spiritual weapon. No question that lifting our personal battles to God is already a lot through prayer.Fellow Christians like me will definitely appreciate it.They will be inspired to pray and check their own relationship with God.It will also give them hope especially in tough and challenging times.Just what I have stated, prayer is a powerful spiritual weapon that may take care of our problems even worse than what Elizabeth was facing in this movie. It will also renew their trust and faith in God.
AlfredBond It's not that I am against religion or that this review is anti-religion. It's because War Room has one of the worst morals I have ever seen. This movie is just propaganda for the kind of irrational behavior which plagues the world: the kind who lives in the past, the kind who take the bible way to seriously, the kind who don't vaccinate children against diseases, the kind who refuse to acknowledge equal rights to homosexuals or women, the kind who resort to violence if you say or do something against their religion. THE KIND WHO OPPOSE HUMAN PROGRESS.That kind of people created this 2-hour film and it is made especially for them. Do not fall for it, please skip it entirely. Thanks for reading.
Rahspot For those of you who don't know (because the title of this "film" is pretty misleading) this movie doesn't have anything to do with war, militar codebreaking or something like that. This is a faith-based movie, just for those who pray every day. I'm not kidding, this movie would be awful even for standard believers. I was ten minutes in and I knew I wasn't going to like it. Not only all the characters believe in God and they feel the need of saying they christians all the time, but the message the movie delivers is awful. Do you have problems of any kind? Well, you don't have to do anything. Just sit in an small room and pray, because you don't have the will or power to do anything, is not your responsibility. God will fix it for you if you pray every day. It might sound hilarious but that's the message. Now, even if the message was terrible, the movie could've had something good from a technical point of view. Don't expect that. Not only this seems like a very low-budget movie, but the acting is freaking terrible. The script is one of the worst I've seen in years. The conversations are not only cheesy, there are conversations that would never happen in real life. The old lady who starts to talk about God and asks our protagonists how many times does she pray per day, do you think that would happen in real life? Hell, no. I couldn't stop laughing when the protagonist just tells the old lady everything that's going on with his life. I guess the old lady was some kind of therapist, right? The direction is awful, there's no only one single good shot. You have some jokes here and there but none of them actually hits because you'd probably be sleeping already. It doesn't have any inspiring moment, not even one. Loud-epic music in some moments when people were just talking was totally out of place and show me what this movie was: a mess. But not only a mess: a mess with twisted morals trying to convince you of getting down on your knees and do nothing when things get difficult. If you're feeling what you want to do in life is get inside a room to avoid your responsibilities and your problems, just waiting for them to fix themselves, then this is a must-watch for you. Also, if you keep repeating yourself "I'm Christian and I'm right, all the rest, wrong" then this is the movie for you, but its message it's so terrible that I wouldn't even recommend it to christians. For the rest of the people in the planet, avoid at all costs. It isn't even funny because it tries to hit you in the head with its message so hard that you can't take it anymore. Did I mentioned there's a scene in which the old lady is about to be robbed by a mugger and she stops him by saying "put that knife down in the name of Jesus"? Well, that might be the best scene of the movie. You can watch just that scene if you want to laugh for a while.Seriously, don't watch it. It wouldn't even work if you pretend you're watching a fantasy film located in a fantasy universe. Atrocius in every sense, it only qualifies as a movie because it was recorded with a camera.
chughes-31758 War Room captivated me when I first saw it in theaters this film has a very powerful message which is Prayer is a powerful weapon and can change people this message displayed throughout the film really puts your thinking cap on. the characters such as Elizabeth Jordan and Clara Williams really had a big impact on the emotions of the film and I admit it made me cry (in a good way) not only it makes you cry but makes you laugh with the humor many characters had within the film. Overall War Room was definitely a amazing and powerful film that will have you laughing and crying and overjoyed in the message in the film and i would definitely say War Room is a movie worth seeing for all ages
