SlyGuy21 1st Match: William Regal vs Ultimo Dragon, WCW World TV Championship. This isn't a groundbreaking match by any means, but it's simple, and it works. Regal plays a more grounded game, having Dragon show off more of his technical skill. It's a refreshing change from the past few matches where Dragon just does spots and nothing else. Sonny Onoo gets into an argument with Dragon, and screws him out of the belt. Simple but effective. Rating: 3.5/52nd Match: Luna Vachon vs Madusa. I just realized that Madusa stands for "Made in the USA", took me long enough. The match isn't anything special, aside from a few brutal roundhouse kicks, but it's entertaining enough. It keeps the crowd into the show, and doesn't overstay it's welcome, it works. Rating: 3.5/5Macho Man comes out and starts to talk trash about DDP, then DDP comes out and chases him off. He then baits Macho back into the ring and wails on him with a crutch. The rest of the nWo comes out and gets annihilated, but eventually overpower Page. Then Big Show comes out and helps DDP clear the ring again. The crowd goes crazy, with Page and Big Show standing tall. I bring this up because this does something that needed to happen, it brings heat to an angle. This is the most heat the nWo has had since they started for me. It gets the point across, but also hypes the crowd up. Very well done segment.3rd Match: Rey Mysterio vs Yuji Yasuaoka. Another match with a simple premise, Yuji wants to make a name for himself in WCW by taking on Rey, there's your match. Nothing fancy, just a good match. There are a few good spots here and there, but the real story is just Yuji's quest to get respect. I don't know if he ever got it, but he put on a really good match here. Rating: 4/54th Match: Glacier vs Mortis. Match ends within 90 seconds and only serves to show the debut of Ernest "The Cat" Miller. Kind of pointless, but I won't count it against the show as a whole because it's such a short segment with nothing really wrong. Rating: None.5th Match: Dean Malenko vs Jeff Jarrett, WCW US Heavyweight Championship. The crowd hates Jarrett, and so do I, so this match has some good suspense to it. Malenko is of course on fire, and Jarrett puts up a good fight. I'm sure they wanted Jarrett as a face, but I can't cheer for him because I don't like him on a personal level. Mongo eventually comes out and throws Jarrett back into the ring where Malenko gets the win. It's not technically interference to me, so this is good enough to maybe get on my "Match of the Year" list. Rating: 4.5/56th Match: Chris Benoit vs Meng, Death match. Basically just a Last Man Standing match. Despite the Dungeon of Doom being all but dead right now, Sullivan sent Meng out to beat Benoit to a pulp. The two biggest faults this has is that the ref still does 5 counts, and it's mostly confined to the ring. It's a Death match, with no weapons or anything, but it's physical as hell. I might be in the minority here, but I loved how physical this match was, even the ending where Meng chokes Benoit out clean. Another killer match, did WCW just decide to place all their good matches from '97 here? Rating: 4.5/57th Match: The Steiner Brothers vs Konnan and Hugh Morrus. Another entertaining match, with the Steiners hitting mostly power moves that make the crowd go crazy. Entertaining enough, and that's all I care about right now. Rating: 3.5/58th Match: Steve McMichael vs Reggie White. This is boring trash though. This is one of those NFL crossover matches that both WCW and WWF have done in the past. The problem is that both Mongo and Reggie are garbage and can't wrestle, so the match just drags on for 15 minutes until Mongo wins with the Briefcase of Death shot for like the 4th show in a row. The only bad match on this whole card. Rating: 1.5/59th Match: Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, and Kevin Greene vs the nWo. This is Flair's first match in 6 months, so the match is just Flair and company winning to end the show on a positive note. The match is decent enough, but the crowd and antics elevate it. Nick Patrick even counts the win for Flair's team. Rating: 3.5/5Final Rating: 8 out of 10. So I guess WCW just decided out of the blut to put on a great show here. Some matches were really surprising, and aside from Mongo's match, all are at least good.R.I.P. Chris Benoit

It was sloppy and pretty hard to watch. Women's wrestling is way better today than it was back then.* out of 5Randy Savage is out for a promo. Savage says The nWo are the center of the universe as the crowd chants for DDP. Savage says DDP wants no part of the madness. DDP comes through the crowd with a crutch in hand. Savage runs off. He changes his mind, but Eric Bischoff comes out and holds Savage back. DDP says Savage must have a previous engagement. He says Savage is going to Hogan's house to wash his car and kiss his ass. Savage comes into the ring and gets nailed by DDP's crutch. Other nWo members come in and get nailed by DDP's crutch as well. The numbers game catches up to DDP, but The Giant makes the save and Savage and the nWo retreat.Yuji Yasuraoka Vs Rey Mysterio Jr.Mysterio wins with a springboard hurricanrana. These two put on a fairly solid match. I had a couple of issues with it, but overall it was enjoyable. I just wish it didn't start so slowly.**3/4 out of 5Sub Zero Vs Shao Khan I'm just kidding. It's Glacier Vs Mortis. Glacier wins by DQ after Wrath interferes. Earnest 'The Cat' Miller comes in from the crowd and saves Glacier. This was a good match between these two. I was excited about this one and they ended up proving me right. I was surprised that Malenko won fairly clean.***1/4 out of 5Death MatchChris Beniot (W/Woman) Vs MengThere are no countouts, no disqualification, and pinfalls don't count. It's basically like, a Last Man Standing match. Meng wins with the Tongan Death grip. This was decent, mainly because of Beniot. Say what you want about him, but the man is one of the greatest to ever lace a pair of boots. The ending was deflating.**1/2 out of 5The Steiner Brothers Vs Hugh Morrus & Konnan (W/Jimmy Hart)The Steiner's win after Scott hits Hugh Morrus with a Frankensteiner. This match was strictly filler. It was a mediocre match that didn't have much going for it. I don't think anybody took Konnan and Hugh Morrus seriously as a team.*1/2 out of 5Steve McMichael (W/Debra) Vs Reggie WhiteMcMichael wins after hitting Reggie with a loaded briefcase. This was awful to watch. It was two guys with very little wrestling experience stinking up the joint. I give Reggie all the credit in the world for trying, but this was terrible. * out of 5Scott Hall, Kevin Nash & Syxx Vs Ric Flair, Roddy Piper & Kevin GreeneFlair's team picks up the win. This was a poor main event for the most part, even if the atmosphere was electric. It was smart to give Flair the win in his hometown to avoid a potential riot. *3/4 out of 5This is a mediocre PPV. WCW PPV's are really hit or miss, especially when it comes to 1997. I would suggest that you give this one a pass.4/10

Champ-Dean Malenko -Exciting Bout, Malenko retains 7/10 6. Meng Vs. Chris Benoit - Benoit rocks, he was technically fantastic. And that super stiff Meng won, Blah. 5/10 7. Hugh Morrus/Konnan Vs. The Steiner Brothers - Steiners uncled with nice suplexes...weaker ending but very decent bout. 8/10 8. Steve McMichael Vs. Reggie White - OMG, that WAS awful, who cares about that stupidity. These 2! non-wrestlers prepared super-stiff match 2/10 9. Ric Flair/Pajpa/Greene Vs. Syxx/Scot Hall/Nash - Fine that WCW and even Flair won over NWO. NWO hadn't got so many loses. Greene was almost better skilled wrestler than Nash, funny. 6/10
