mikemulligan An ugly, senseless movie in which there is a lot of sexual content and horrible humor. The worst part of the movie is when a group of Australians beat an Indian to death. They just "apologize" for murdering him and don't get any legal punishment for their crime.
Anurag Yadav This movie is just a waste of time, or that's what i think. I rarely watch Hindi movies but i had to watch it with my friends and it disappointed me greatly. Bollywood has great potential to make good movies too e.g. Hera Pheri, Kahaani and other good movies but they are wasting it. There is nothing interesting about this movie, not good acting, not a strong story. The jokes are old school and forced. The actors are really awful. They are "overacting". It doesn't even pass your time inside the theater. The whole time, I was praying it to end fast and go out and get rid of the suffocation due to the movie. I want to tell you guys to not waste your time watching this movie. You will be disappointed greatly and your time and money will be wasted.
namashi_1 Divya Khosla Kumar's 'Yaariyan' boasts stunning visuals, awesome songs & even decent performances, but what it lacks is - A Solid Script. Though it has its share of inspiring moments, the final outcome, is strictly okay!'Yaariyan' Synopsis: A college student must win an inter college competition to save his college from being demolished by property builders.'Yaariyan' has a fairly entertaining first-hour, but slips considerably post-interval. The drama slackens, the sub-plots are under-developed & even the culmination, is plain ordinary. Also, there are too many songs in this hour. Though melodious, the songs only add to the film's length, which anyhow is over 135-minutes.Sanjeev Dutta's Screenplay has its share of highs, but the lows are undeniable either. A shorter, crispier second-hour was needed. Divya Khosla Kumar's Direction is well-done. Cinematography by Sameer Arya is top-class. The visuals are excellent! Editing lacks sharpness. Music by Various Artists, is awesome. Performance-Wise: Himansh Kohli makes a confident debut. He's at ease, especially in the romantic portions. Rakul Preet Singh passes muster. Nicole Faria looks sexy & delivers decently. Evelyn Sharma shines in her part. Veterans Gulshan Grover, Deepti Naval & Smita Jaykar, are adequate. On the whole, 'Yaariyan' isn't bad, but it could've been much better nevertheless.
binducherungath Yaariyan (यारियां) is a mindless film without any purpose. The theme is based on a College Romance. Bollywood has witnessed wonderful College Campus based movies like Jo Jeeta Vahi Sikandar. The film is made keeping youth-audience in mind, but it is an insult to their intelligence. There is nothing to save this film. Divya Khosla Kumar disappoints as a director. Her characters are superficial, story is shallow and the execution falls apart. One keeps wondering what the director wants to convey. A bunch of aimless students are shown, who are in the college just for Masti but given a huge task by Principal (Gulshan Grover) to save the college from not being sold. The college campus seems to be more of a party-ground where every now and then parties, racing, swayamvars are thrown. None of the students are shown focused in life which is not today's youth (who definitely know where they want to head in their lives). The second half tries to build up the story on themes viz. love, patriotism, competition, mother-son emotions etc. but it turns out to be illogical. Dialogues with double meanings, girls in minis are very very unimpressive. Even credible stars viz. Gulshan Grover, Deepti Naval, Smitha Jaykar's acting skills are under-utilized. The screenplay and editing both are pathetic. Cinematography in few frames are good. Music is also good upto an extent. The film may get an audience who would love to laugh at silly jokes, but otherwise, it is a poorly crafted film.
