crosstown-2 Tightly directed, very entertaining movie. Good performances by the entire cast. Especially Julie Bowen as "Jamie" is terrific. Also outstanding is Neal McDonough playing the role of a book publisher. Simply hilarious. Here is the set up: Jamie (Bowen) accidentally kills her boyfriend and together with her friend Laura she tries to get rid of the body. Al, Jamie's former boyfriend was a big jerk... well, both Laura and Jamie believe she's better off without him. Arlene, a friend of Jamie and Laura, also has trouble with men. Especially with her sexist boss Peter Gish. (Neal McDonough, who by the way also played an excellent part in "Ravenous" as private Reich). Laura thinks it would be better for Arlene if Gish would join the ranks of Al... Nice cinematography and art direction. Enjoyed the film very much.
lpersons-2 This movie was not worth the time to watch it... very poor acting! I felt like I was watching someones high school drama class project. This ranks as one of the poorest acted, directed and written movies. I watched it thinking it must be going to get better.. but I was wrong. I wish I could say something positive about this movie, but I really can't think of anything. I guess the plot line was about the best thing it had going for it. Perhaps if it was rewritten, and had some descent acting and a better cast it could be tried again. I did think the sets apartments were decorated nicely. I guess when you have to reach for something to positive to say and that "the sets apartments are decorated nicely" is the only thing you can come up with, you can honestly say, Don't Waste Your Time!
Wout Visser (wrvisser-leusden-nl) A thrilling B-movie, with a fascinating performance by Traci Lords. She plays Laura, the spiritual leader of a Killing Club of three ladies trying to get rid of some annoying men. This movie's story is built up well, showing ruthless Laura having more and more trouble to inspire her two hesitating companions into a new murder. In the end the three of them inevitably split up, Laura moving on from Los Angeles. Her companions stay behind, one of them writing a successful novel about their experiences in the Killing Club. Six month afterwards these two ladies are shown reflecting about their adventures with Laura, concluding they don't really miss her. At the same time Laura is shown somewhere in Arizona, taking off in a cab. No doubt on her way to a new horror plot.
pietderver Quite an entertaining movie. Housewife Jamie accidently kills her boyfriend and together with her friend Laura she tries to get rid of the body. Al, Jamie's former boyfriend, was a big jerk and both Laura and Jamie believe she's better off without him. Arlene, a friend of Jamie and Laura, has trouble with her sexist boss (well played by Neal McDonough, who also played an excellent part in "Ravenous" as private Reich) and Laura thinks it would be better for Arlene if he was murdered...
