I watched all 8 seasons of 24, including Redemption and Live Another Day and oh man did this suck and did not carry the torch of 24. I pray to God that it does not get a second season. The story, backstory, characters, everything just doesn't work like it did with the original. Also, shouldn't we call this like "12" or "12:Legacy" or something because it wasn't even a complete day in the life of the main character.I mean, I could probably throw together a homemade version of 24 that you would actually consider using as toilet paper. This is just complete garbage. And the addition of a homosexual relationship that was completely irrelevant to the story did not help me better understand this show.Another thing is that Eric Carter's wife seems to know just too much operational details about ongoing operations. Eric was a Special Forces operator, he should know that his work stays in the field. "Get in, get out, get gone." Not "Get in, get out, get gone, and tell your wife about it." I will admit the only joy I got from this show was hearing about Edgar Stiles as well as the appearance of Tony Almeida. I would like those 12 hours of my life back please.

I will start from 24.There are terrorists. Good terrorists, bad terrorists, terrorizing terrorists, mesmerizing terrorists... Say it 9 times, fast! In good ol' USA, there is a very powerful agency called CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit).6-8 people work in CTU. 1-3 of them are employed by terrorists at any given moment! CTU headquarters is in Los Angeles. The building and its resources can be accessed by anyone and everyone: * from front * from back * from top * from bottom * from sides * from windows * from basement * from HVAC pipes * from roof above * from sewage canals belowAnyone can enter the building with a federal ID, with a driver's license or with a Walmart gift card. You can probably pass all security checks and find yourself right in the middle of OPs room just by imagining about it! (Seriously, real CTU should sue the hell out of these people for portraying them as the most imbecilic people on planet) Those who enter the building can install C4 explosives, nuclear bombs, nerve gas canisters, EMPs, IEDs, PVTs, EBDs, XEVs, SUVs and untold number of harmful acronyms, and while doing that, can probably carry an elephant or two on their backs between floors without being noticed. They can shoot anyone at random, including very important witnesses that are left to walk around aimlessly. As an additional bonus, CTU building has empty rooms for moles to operate in total privacy. Then there is Jack Bauer, who saves anyone and everyone from bad guys, but not believed or trusted by anyone, even those whose lives he saved multiple times in a row.Jack has a daughter, Kim Bauer. Kim likes to play table tennis and take long walks on the beach. This, of course, is whenever she has time from getting kidnapped -- 8 times per season, sometimes back-to-back or 15 minutes apart. She psychologically broke me. Whenever I see her pop up on screen, on any movie, I feel terrified that she is going to be grabbed again and a new 24 nightmare will start over! Well, 9 seasons of this shythe and a terrible series ending with no closure: Jack surrendering to Russians 39th time, as happened 8 seasons before. Die already! .............................................. And then... And then... When you think you have seen it all, there is this masterpiece:The BLACKJACK! The 24 Legacy, Season 10.Jack is replaced by a 16-year old, Politically Correct, Diversity-Certified black boy. This season is a special kind of awful. I have never seen a bunch of untalented cast as this one.But I am sure this season was intentional to warm up the audience for what is to come in Season 11: BlackJack Duplex: Black-Gay-Female-Muslim-CecilTheLion Jack in lead, Freakshow Jenner as President! I mean, come on, bloody hell! The show had great potential, but they overdid it and laced it with stupidity. I was forced to watch it because of gf and it was really painful to finish it all. It was freaking tormenting.See Homeland for a good one. Don't waste your time on this.PS: That gong... I hope whoever decided to torture us with it has it played to him nonstop when he is dying on his deathbed.

Very poor, zero charisma on any of the cast. Story was predictable and dull, only good thing was it was only 12 episodes......... 24 was Jack Bauer somethings you cannot change. More terrorists arising from the dead - it not believable and not good fiction either Can assume there will not be a follow up

It was inevitable that "24" would return. The show ranks as one of FOX's biggest hits of the new millennium and already experienced a mainly successful limited follow-up three years ago. But "24: Legacy" is the first incarnation without iconic star Kiefer Sutherland and faces the challenge of carving out a new direction. In certain respects, it succeeds. But, in most, it's a dismal failure. The most prominent success lies in the choice of a new protagonist - Corey Hawkins. He excels as a troubled former Army Ranger, thrust into action over his role in a covert operation that forced him underground, combining an indomitable strength with traces of vulnerability. Unlike Sutherland, whose cold-blooded competence was rarely in doubt, there's a volatile quality to Hawkins that renders him engaging and relatable. It's possible he won't make the right decisions or find a solution immediately. However, he won't stop until he does. It's a shame that no one else in the cast commands as much attention. Jimmy Smits and Miranda Otto are the co-leads - a Presidential candidate and his wife, a former director of CTU and acquaintance of Hawkins'. Both are miscast and both look as though they'd rather be elsewhere. Smits provides a pale imitation of Dennis Haysbert's stellar performance in the early seasons, along with his own Matt Santos from the latter days of "The West Wing". Meanwhile, Otto does not project the charisma to be expected of a leader of her character's caliber and fails to generate any chemistry with Smits or others. The only supporting roles that rate as above-average are those of Dan Bucatinsky (the twitchy lead tech at CTU, plus the show's only consistent source of humor) and Ashley Thomas (Hawkins' taciturn older brother; a bad-ass gangster with a soft side). To be fair, the actors are done little favors by the plot. It's a herky-jerky ride littered with highly questionable decisions and abrupt changes of heart. It feels as though the story was conceived with a 24-hour season in mind and heavily pared down to fit in the limited 12-hour time frame. Subplots are raised and resolved so quickly that they fail to resonate as they should. The action is competently filmed, but rarely inventive or memorable. Tension builds awkwardly, requiring characters to be whip-smart one moment and dumb as a box of rocks the next (by no means a new trait for "24", but it's definitely more overt here). And, most disappointingly, the story features no satisfying twists or reveals. If you've seen even one season of "24", there's very little that's not predictable.Given all this trouble, FOX was wise to kick this show to the curb and admit defeat on their Super Bowl lead out. Despite its numerous problems, "24: Legacy" has done a great service in giving a star turn to Hawkins, who handles himself admirably from gritty action sequences to tender moments. Between this and his breakout performance as Dr. Dre in "Straight Outta Compton", it's hard to see anything but a very bright future for this actor.
