Reviews

Dave This is a comedy panel game about public opinion and recent events. It was originally shown on Channel 4, then moved to More4 and is now on E4. Every episode is hosted by Jimmy Carr. Each of the two teams has a captain and two guests. The captains have been Sean Lock, Dave Spikey, Jason Manford and Jon Richardson. The current captains are Rob Beckett and Aisling Bea. How good it is varies a lot, depending on who is on that episode. Some guests are good, but many are awful. Aisling Bea is the best of the captains.
Jackson Booth-Millard I was watching this comedy panel show when it first aired in 2005, because I was a big fan of the host comedian, since it started it has gone through changes, but it continues to entertain. Hosted by Jimmy Carr, with team captains Sean Lock (series 1-19), Dave Spikey (series 1-4), Jason Manford (series 5-10), Jon Richardson (series 11-19), Rob Beckett (series 20) and Aisling Bea (series 20), the show is all about surveys, statistics and opinion polls, based on the week's news, and general subjects, e.g. food and drink, relationships, television, film, sport, politics, etc. The title is based on the Whiskas slogan "8 out of 10 cats prefer Whiskas". Guests on the show have included: James Acaster, Nicola Adams, Grace Adams-Short, Chris Addison, Rebecca Adlington, Fiona Allen, Tom Allen, Simon Amstell, Peter Andre, Lisa Appleton, Richard Ayoade, Richard Bacon, David Baddiel, Ruth Badger, Stephen Baldwin, Michael Ball, Zoë Ball, Duncan Bannatyne, Dane Baptiste, John Barrowman, Aisling Bea, Rob Beckett, Brian Belo, Mark "Bez" Berry, Christopher Biggins, Jason Biggs, Tattoo Fixers' Paisley Billings, John Bishop, The Apprentice's Raef Bjayou, Heston Blumenthal, Jennie Bond, Edith Bowman, Frankie Boyle, Jo Brand, Kevin Bridges, Fern Britton, Alex Brooker, Charlie Brooker, Desiree Burch, Ed Byrne, Gemma Cairney, Susan Calman, Scott Capurro, Alan Carr, Natalie Cassidy, Amy Childs, Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm, Paul Chowdhry, Alexa Chung, Terry Christian, Jarred Christmas, Jeremy Clarkson, Julian Clary, EastEnders' Charlie Clements, Alun Cochrane, Paralympic athlete Hannah Cockroft, Gemma Collins, Roisin Conaty, Victoria Coren, James Corden, Matthew Crosby, Jamie Cullum, Alan Cumming, Tess Daly, Alan Davies, Greg Davies, Tom Davis, Jack Dee, Rob Delaney, Nancy Dell'Olio, Les Dennis, Janice Dickinson, Danny Dyer, Matt Edmondson, Jeremy Edwards, Rick Edwards, Kian Egan, Joey Essex, Example, Tom Felton, Vanessa Feltz, Yvette Fielding, Carrie Fisher, Micky Flanagan, Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff, Paul Foot, Matt Forde, Stewart Francis, Kirsty Gallacher, Kate Garraway, Boy George, Peaches Geldof, Uri Geller, David Gest, Josie Gibson, Mel Giedroyc, Rhod Gilbert, Trisha Goddard, Jade Goody, Stephen Graham, Nikki Grahame, Richard E. It is funny, it is clever and it is interesting, being both comedic and factual, including Christmas, Big Brother and other specials, I perhaps prefer it to Have I Got News for You, a brilliant satirical comedy panel show. Very good!
Reilly_4 8 out of 10 cats is a game show in which two teams answer questions linked to opinion polls answered for by the general British public. Hosted by the terrific Jimmy Carr, it features Sean Lock and Dave Spikey (both also brilliant) as the team captains, and a host of famous faces to be the other team members. The comedy comes thick and fast, especially from Lock and Spikey, with regular quips from the guests, most of which are surprisingly funny! With a host like Carr, and team captains who know what they're doing, this programme is an absolute treat and should not be missed. This programme has become one of my favourite comedy game shows, up there with Have I Got News For You, Shooting Stars, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Don't Miss!
