Reviews

jtungsten16 I don't know why there are so many negative reviews on here about 9JKL, I think it's a great show and I am very entertained every time I watch it. I really think the show is funny and I also love the characters. The writing on the show is awesome and I love the whole premise of the show how the family is all together and living in the same building, right next to each other. I think this show will get even better with time. The first season of any sitcom is always a little shaky and they usually don't find their voice and get comfortable in their roles till around episode 10. All in all I think 9JKL is a great show and I want to see it succeed. Give it a try people!
jackknife-63072 Poor acting, tired plot lines, terrible writing, and canned laughter. Such a shame with a good cast like this. Spoiler alert. Guy moves back to hometown after his acting career in LA implodes and moves into the apartment in between his brother and parents. Parents and brother meddle in his private life. Hilarity ensues. Note sarcasm. If this is your deal this is for you. If not avoid like the plague.
nathanalexanderds After watching 7 episodes of this show, I can genuinely say that I find this show rather amusing. Matt Murray's character Nick is hilarious and pretty much rescues every single episode he is in for example episode 7 (spoiler alert) he fires the "creepy nanny" I replayed that scene at least ten times and laughed every single time. Whilst I can understand that the first one or two episodes seem forced and a bit over the top, the further along it goes the better it becomes. the rivalry between the brothers is great to watch, the nosy parent and child dynamic (the grandparents and their two sons, not the baby parent relationship) and the employee and tenant relationship is brilliant. Although the show does need work, for example when Andrew and Eve talk about their past sexual conquests or sexual ability it is rather cringe worthy, the desperation of josh makes the show rather unbearable, and some of the situations that are shown are situations no normal human being would find themselves in or rather could be easily dealt with in a rational way.
Syl Okay, the sitcom is a work in progress. The show has potential especially with Elliott Gould and Linda Lavin as parents of adult sons in New York City. They all live in the same apartment building together in New York City. Josh returns home to New York City after living in Los Angeles, California. I'm watching the series for Lavin and Gould who are comic professionals. This series was based on Mark Feuerstein's own family life. Josh is a single man living alone. His brother, Andrew, is married to an Asian American pediatrician, Eve, with their baby son. The sitcom has great potential if they focus more on the parents.
