owlspotts I sense that this show is a let down for numerous reasons. I have not seen the films that are associated so my complaints come merely from how the show is framed. First of all, the characters lack any type of defining characteristics. We have the generic roles of caring mother, responsible teenager, caring grandfather, grumpy doctor, ect. The side characters are almost indistinguishable from one another, although the main cast would also have this issue if they didn't take up so much screen time. We join the cast on exciting adventures like what is making grandfather dizzy, dedicating a new memorial in the town, and can we persuade the new guy to run in our town race. All with a hinted dash of magic. No that's too much. Dial it down. Because it's not really magic, no, just a bad take on new age medicine and a mother and daughter who have a knack for predicting the obvious. Cassie Nightingale also has a knack for sprinkling random bits of 'wisdom' that are just general enough that they could really be relatable to just about anyone who has experienced anything ever. All with a sly smile that tries to trick the viewer into thinking that Cassie might actually know something helpful. It's kinda funny because it also gives the impression that she is not listening to anyone and just subbing in general phrases. Also, Bell, Book, & Candle is her shop that is referred to numerous times as mysterious and a thriving business of the town, and yet any shot of the inside of the store shows it to essentially be a Pottery Barn without the furniture. Also, do people pay her for the herbs she gives them? I have yet to see that happen. There are so many things, though. It works for good background noise and I wouldn't mind to watch this in a waiting room at the dentist.

daiquiana It's definitely one of those I have nothing better to watch shows, it's extremely mellow dramatic, and some bad acting but the plot is good

avionik99 This show has gone downhill fast! Its like the writers all have better jobs and are doing everything they can to get this show cancelled! And Denton was a HORRIBLE fit!! All he did was bring his character from Desperate housewives to Middleton! He has ZERO acting skills! The story line is terrible, the dialog is atrocious! Just listen to the banter back and forth, the small talk its disgusting. This show was so so Good Once! My wife is getting the dry heaves watching it, I am not sure how much longer we can continue to watch hoping for a good episode!

sinny_koshka Two episodes in and I'm wondering if this show improves at all. I remember watching twin peaks with a friend who dissed it in 30 minutes. I explained that the facade of cheesy suburbia helped enhance the menacing surreal stories that would evolve. I'm guessing that this won't be happening with The Good Witch. It's so twee and sweet. My good lady watches shows with vampires and / or werewolves which I tend to avoid. I guess this show is another excuse for teenage angst and adult crisis management. It doesn't really matter what the theme is - the format is generic and dull. Like watching another special effects extravaganza from Marvel expect strong daja vu and not an interesting show.
