adamkeane-946-730333 King of The Hill is by far one of the best comedies I have every watched. I'll start by saying that it is not like family guy or American dad, where the humour revolves over funny sounds and idiotic story lines, If you were to compare King of The Hill you would be more likely to compare it to the likes of The Simpsons, only It has managed to stay fresh. The story is about Hank Hill, a passionate Texan Propane Salesman, His wife Peggy a part time teacher, and there son Bobby, other characters include Dale Gribble , a conspiracy theorist exterminator, army barber Bill Dauterive, and lady's man Jeff Boomhauer. If you haven't already watched this show then do yourself a favour and give it a go.
Liz Nolastname This show was great! The characters were well developed and the story lines usually were funny and witty. Some episodes I found a bit ridiculous, but overall it was an amazing show. Bobby was probably my favorite character. They ended this show and now we have crap like the Cleveland show. But King of the hill will remain a favorite of mine, and all the better that It's now on Netflix. If you haven't sen it, give it a go. It's fun and family friendly, unlike some cartoon shows like South park and Family guy (Don't get me wrong, I love South park and family guy, though I wouldn't call them family friendly shows) RIP King of the hill.
michellelocke007 have been a faithful viewer of this terrific animated series from mike judge the same creator and writer behind beavis and butt-head from the early nineties. this time the series focuses on the lives and tribulations of the folks of Arlen Texas one namely hank hill and his family. i liked how the animation matures and grows over time and there was a lot of thought put into the depth and emotions of its many characters. you really start to root for and sympathize towards each and every one of its characters. there's so many great lines throughout that it's hard to pin point one in particular. some of my personal favourite episodes are bobby goes nuts when bobby take a self-defence course to ward off bullies at school but winds up taking a course for women's self defend. to say the least hilarity ensues with classic lines like 'that's my purse. i don't know you'. another is the fat and the furious where bill dautrieve starts and training to be a competitive eater in the world of hot dogs. Peggy and hank always do their darnedest when it comes to raising bobby and often have different views on parenting skills and child rearing. but there's always a lesson to be learn-ed and in the end it's all about being a family and doing the right thing. i do however have a gripe with how hank treats his friends and neighbours. though he is life long friends with bill, boomhauer and dale too many times i have seen him Miss-treat them, humiliate and verbally abuses each of them most particular bill and dale. hanks always seems he has to upstage them in everything he does or says and get the upper hand. like the episode titled the Arlen flooder where bill becomes shelter leader at the middle school where all the citizens have take sanction after their homes are flooded out and are forced to evacuate. bill being UN-sure of his leadership skills does his best to raise awareness and calm among his flock that he is now in charge. hank later shows up and tries to over-throw bill as shelter leader and dismiss his efforts. in more than one episode he usually slugs or kicks bill or dale around for his sheer amusement or let off steam when something ticks him off. i think there are more constructive ways to vent your frustration than taking it out on your supposed best friends. i like dale's out of this world conspiracy theories and general thoughts about the worlds going ons which is always good for a chuckle. with boomhauer one needs to take a step back and actually take a closer lesson to what he is saying though it may take a couple of tries. he seems to the level-headed one of the group. i like how bill constantly tries to make attempts at maintaining a stable relationship with a woman who isn't entirely repulsed or disgusted with his existence. just someone who wants a second chance at life after a disastrous first marriage that led to his descent into alcoholism and acute depression over the years. look forward to watching the reruns on my local TV station.
Aaron1375 I never really could get into this show as for the most part I found it very unfunny. I only watch it now occasionally because it comes on adult swim and my girlfriend and I usually watch it on that channel when there is absolutely nothing else on television. Why if I do not care for the show you ask? Well there is the once in a while chuckle to be had from the show so it is not all bad. However, for the most part I find it rather boring and the jokes just sputter and die. I would say I am glad the show finally got taken off the air, but I do not really have that view of it as plenty of shows I enjoy are long gone now so I actually hate to see this one go as it is one more non reality television show that is off the air leaving more space for another trash show about swapping children, singing badly or whatever else comes on a show these days. The basic premise of the show revolves around a father just like in other animated television shows from "The Flintstones" and "The Jetsons" to the later hits "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" (granted the Simpsons really started out being more focused on son Bart). The dad works at a propane company and the fact that he works at this propane company and really enjoys his job and propane is a source of jokes for the entire run of the series. After awhile you think they could just dispense with jokes about his boring job. His wife is a substitute teacher and their son is not really everything his father would hope he is. From time to time you would think this show was taking place in the 1950's as wife Peggy looks like that is where she got that hairstyle. However, it has to be taking place in the present as they have many shows based on current trends in technology and stuff. They have a niece who lives with them and causes them much grief and Hank (the father) has a strange assortment of friends. One of which has another one of those gags that keep on going to long as a husband has a cheating wife and he is obviously raising the other man's son as his own. Just not a show I really care for, I did like Beavis and Butthead, but that is because their show was less structured and random than King of the Hill is. At times you could say that it might as well not be animated.
