I_Am_The_Taylrus SPOILERSI like Playmania, it is a great show, but I really feel like fast-forwarding on my Charter DVR. It is a really great show. I love game-shows. You name it. Match Game, Family Feud, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the Weakest Link, and Deal or No Deal, but this show is live! It is a live show! Here is the basis of the show. People can text on their cell phones and answer a question to one of the games. It could be an anagram, it could be hangman, it could be a Top Five game, it could be a Name the Pixelated Celebrity, and much more. People could also E-Mail the show and talk about the day's topic. A topic could include what's your favorite television show, movie, and more. The E-Mails would be read aloud on the show. There are three hosts on the show. Melissa Peachey, Jessica York, and Shandi Finnessey. All of them host different nights, although at first Mel hosted the first hour, then Jessica. Jessica is a new hostess. The show is on for two hours. Players are allowed ten texts each night. You should put more than one text on each game. Top Five is my favorite game. It could consist of top five slasher films, top five music albums, top five television shows beginning with the letter S, and so on. There is my second favorite, Alphbucks. It's basically hangman. There are more games than that, and there are a lot of new games.Overall, this is a great interactive, live, game-show. The only problem, you really feel like fast-forwarding at times. The hosts are a little too talkative.8/10Recommended Titles: Lingo, Match Game, and Family Feud.
Phatalbert10693-1 Playmania is extremely boring. This is the basis of the show. Mel or Shandi ask extremely easy questions that a 2 year old could answer at an extremely slow pace. This show lasts for 2 hours and they probably only play about 10 games in that period. People may like this show because the hosts are eye candy, but they're hotness completely is destroyed by the fact that they are so friggin annoying.During the show they mention that we need more players a million times. The top 5 surveys that they do probably takes about 20 minutes out of the show. This show is probably one of the worst game shows ever made. One of the reasons they probably don't have callers is because the show is so cheap with the money. The most money I've ever seen them hand out was $210. I wouldn't be surprised if this "game show" is canceled by the end of 2006.
Evil_Magus This show can most accurately be described as TV Bubble-Gum: It's chewing, it has a good taste to it, and it lasts a long time. But, like Bubble-Gum, it can leave a bad taste in your mouth after a few too many chews. This show features very simple questions that take the form of simply games, like Hangman, guessing a simple phrase or guessing items on a short list. Callers are the contestants, and anybody can play. The questions, though, are terribly easy. There's some techno music pumped into the background that's fashioned into a continuous loop. It never seems to get old, but it never adds much to the show anyway. The hostess, however, regardless of which one that it, is extremely personable, pleasant enough to watch and can make some very amusing facial expressions. I rather enjoy that British woman. But there's nothing to this show. It's simplistic and uncompelling, although it can be entertaining if absolutely nothing else is on.
Randy_D Playmania is the American version of TV quiz shows that are popular in the UK. It's a great show to watch even if you don't enter the games, mostly because of the hosts. Shandi Finnessey, Miss USA 2004, is fun and easy on the eyes. But Mel Peachey (and that is the proper way to spell her last name, with two "e"s) is something else. She was brought over as a veteran of the British quiz programs, and it's a good thing, too! I could watch her read the phone book for two hours. She is easily the best import from the UK since Doctor Who.Some of the games are better than others but that is to be expected in a format like this. Some of my favorites are Missing Link, AlphaBucks and the Top 5 surveys. I'm not too keen on Crosswords because there is no way to narrow down the possibilities. There could be ten wrong guesses and you are no closer than you were at the start. And whatever happened to Lingo? You'd think GSN would keep it for the cross-promotional opportunity.Randy from Michigan
