Reviews

Buffye Slayre of Vampyres This is a rare gem of a TV drama and fully deserved a second season, if not for the ratings, then at least for they way they set it up. In the fullness of time, I think it will acquire a cult status and it will be regretted by many that it was left hanging. It was the right thing to do not to have Bridget and Andrew walking off into the sunset together. It was smarter still to avoid having Bridget and Siobhan come face-to-face and also, to wait until the very end for Bridget to discover the truth about Siobhan. A hypothetical sequel could, therefore, explore any number of intriguing possibilities. Now that it is all in the open, would the two sisters go after each other or would blood eventually prove thicker than water?Siobhan, in seeking to carry through her bid to 'reclaim her old life', would, presumably, see Bridget as an obstacle to this. Bridget, for her part, with the fog finally lifted, has the upper hand in the relationship for the first time. How would she react to the realisation that her sister had set her up to be murdered, when all along, she thought she was the one who wronged Siobhan?Someone, somewhere, should return to this project and give it a new lease of life, even if it is just another season, to bring it to a proper conclusion. I don't know much about how TV production works but, presumably, it would have to happen soon, or the cast will be too old to fit into the roles. Maybe they could take a leaf out of the book of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and continue it in comic book form!
aislynnmidnight As has happened far too many times, a TV network got a fun show with an interesting premise that was truly addictive and then dropped it with no resolution for fans. I did not watch Ringer when it aired as I did not have CW. However, I was hoping that perhaps this once the writers would have had sufficient notice of the cancellation to wrap things up. Really they could have done it with one or two more episodes, but that would require the network to actually give a crap about their viewers. I had the same problem with "The Gates" on ABC. Loved the first season, watched it faithfully, then, BOOM, saddled with a cliffhanger. They need to fire the network execs that make absurd decisions like this.I would have given the series a 10 (despite a few questionable moments in the pilot) but I hate not having answers. I would recommend to anyone who can live with being left a little unsatisfied.
Joxerlives Like most other people I watched this because I was a huge Buffy fan and was always glad to see SMG back on the screen. With Ringer she has a much more challenging role, trying to play 2 sisters who are physically absolutely identical but light years apart in terms of their personalities and circumstances. Also nice to see Amber Benson guest starring as one of Bridget's stripper pals, a very radical departure from Tara. Shame we never get to see her perform and that she doesn't have any scenes with SMG. So what happened next? Personally I was looking for the pair to be reconciled. Who knows, maybe they will be? Or maybe they'll still stay apart, Siobhan using her appearance to burgle Henry and Andrew's apartments and start over again with her twins, she seems an extremely resourceful lady with no shortage of brains and looks she can exploit. Not least she knows that Henry killed Tyler and it would be unthinkable that she wouldn't use that against him at some point (at the end of the series the sister's circumstances are effectively reversed from what we see at the beginning). What happened to Malcom? Is he the body the FBI found in the final episode and if so was her killed by Bodicay or by Andrew? Or if we'd made it to a second season would he have popped up again? Will Andrew take Bridget back? Will he ever find out about his new twin daughters? So all told I enjoyed Ringer very much and would definitely have watched a second season, shame we never got one.
veronica2989 I think the Ringer was a great show and I was really looking forward for season 2.I really wanted to see what was going to happen next and I'm upset that the show didn't make it.The cast was great and I love Sarah Michelle Gellar. I'm a big fan and I really hope they bring it back, please make season 2 possibly next year. So many good shows get cancelled and its not fair. I truly believe a show this good shouldn't have been cancelled solely based on only the first season. The show deserved to have more episodes to see if people responded to it as strongly as they do now that its cancelled. The ratings should not also only based on TV but the fan base it has on major networking sites like facebook and everywhere else. Actors do what they love for there fans and I one of the many fans is disappointed I can't see the ringer or my favorite actors.
