Reviews

Not Jared (bunbunnyny) It's not often that a show is written that makes you feel so many emotions in a single episode. Siberia does just that and goes above and beyond any TV show I've ever seen. Siberia will come across as an ordinary survival game show (and is advertised as one in commercials). But once you get into it, it is so much more. You don't have to love reality TV to remotely enjoy this show - you will fall in love instantly. Every character is an extremely realistic portrayal of archetypes not typically seen in the forms that you'd think, such as the nerd or environmental enthusiasts. But the two most amazing parts of the show are the acting and the message it sends. The acting is so phenomenal, that thousands upon thousands have become confused as to whether this show is real (I know some who watched the whole season and didn't even realize it was fake!) Their job was to make you question reality, and they did a very excellent job at that. The final piece of this beautiful show is the messages it hides. Beneath the horrific terror and competitive edge lie themes of bravery, forgiveness, and true love.It does not matter what kind of shows you're into, Siberia is a MUST-see for anyone. It first aired a year and a half ago, almost, and I'm still here waiting for a second season. It's sad to see this show that is capable of inventing single-handedly an entire new genre of TV show is not getting the reception that it deserves. And trust me, you'll be an emotional wreck by the end of the first season, in every way you can think of.
ptrunzo Lost meets survivor with a bit of x-files thrown in for good measure. Very creatively done so, unfortunately, it will probably be canceled. With all of the useless, brainless reality drivel out there you would think that a similarly based show that actually took some talent to create and required some thought would be a major hit?! The setting is awesome, beautiful and mysterious. The characters, love them or hate them (and believe me you will really hate several of them, but in a good way)are presented by fabulous actors and actresses who make them extremely believable. If you like wilderness survival situations, if you like sci-fi mixed with Survivorman, if you were a lost junkie like me, if you like reality television with a really cool twist or if you just want to watch some intelligently done "reality" television. This is surely for you.
smileforever-790-820693 Excellent series. I am a reality show watcher. Hubby is not. BUT I may say that we both are hooked. We watch series after series on HULU.Addicted...I agree that is similar to LOST. With the suspense of having something "out there in the forest" nipping off people slowly. The strange horn from the box sound similar to the LOST siren. I can't seem to tell who is a contestant and who is an actor. Are the injuries real? Is the hunting real? What is going on people....I do not want to watch ahead with out the family. I even have my mom hooked. The suspense and the edge of the seat moments are priceless. I happened to stumble upon this series because it automatically began playing after I watched the end of another series on HULU. If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know. Thank you.
johnnymike91 Let me begin by saying that this is by no means the best show ever. That being said, I must admit this show ended up impressing me much more than I had expected it to. This show started off somewhat dull, unoriginal, cheesy, and over the top with melodramatic acting. By episode 8, I've become completely entranced! The story is dynamic, well thought and planned out, creative, and emotional. Like I said before, it's not the best show ever, but it has become 10 times better then it started off! It's sad to say that this show is doing pretty badly as far as viewer ratings, so I'm not sure if it will get a season 2. But I hope it does! Or at least gets a satisfying season 1 ending.
