shermanklump Seriously, this show has it's up's and downs ever since it's release, but the Japanese & English dub of this show isn't bad at all. It's everything you'd expect to see in a sonic series, high thrills, a great since of adventure, a good story, and episode plots. It's classic! Sonic defeats egg-man, collects chaos emeralds, runs fast etc. By the third season it got better by introducing the matrix. Why does this show get frowned about by some? Just because of Chris? Oh well! He wasn't all that bad. That doesn't make this a bad series. Coming off from Sonic Boom we get twice the amount of pointless characters like Zooey, Mike The Ox, Dave The Intern etc. If you think Chris is bad, try watching Sonic Boom, it's even worse. Doesn't even try to resemble anything Sonic related whatsoever. That show instead focuses around getting pets, redecorating houses, boy bands, bro down, show downs etc. It's embarrassing. Sonic X may not be perfect, but it's made it's mark to be one of the best Sonic series out there. Sonic X worst offender is probably is English dub, but even then isn't bad. I highly recommend it! Especially the Japanese dub.
chribren "Sonic X" is an Anime-series aimed at a young audience, mainly fans of Sonic the Hedgehog and company. This series debuted in Japan from 2003 to 2004, broadcast on TV Tokyo. Number of episodes: 78Basic plot: Sonic fights the evil Dr. Eggman. By an accident a chaos control is activated, and many characters (Knuckles, Amy, Tails etc.) gets transported to the world of humans. And so they get to stay at the mansion where Chris Thorndyke, professor Chuck, housemaid Ella and master Tanaka live. And together they have to collect all chaos emeralds before Dr. Eggman and his robots do.This is one of the series which aired on the Norwegian variant of Jetix, and was based on the butchered US version done by 4Kids. I watched this series when it aired both on TV2 Norge and Jetix, but gave up after half of the series because of what I have read about the censorship 4Kids did to this series. It's not that I didn't like this series, it was an entertaining show, but 4Kids made a big shame by butchering it down to make it more suitable for kids, same with other stuff like "Pokemon".So I began to watch the uncensored Japanese version online, and it was MUCH better than the US-version I saw first. The music was completely different and much better than the "Tom & Jerry"-like music on the US cut. Some of the characters fate were completely different, as references to topics like death were also mentioned. Some PG-13-like words like the S-word were also used. You can read more about the different versions on IMDb's "Alternate Versions" section, or alternatively google about it.Conclusion: The 4Kids version is basically an OK show to be viewed to kids. The Japanese version is a great anime which I want to recommend to any hardcore Sonic-fans who haven't seen this series yet.
Jason_VoorheesIMDb Sonic X is a show where it's so bad it's good. Because let's be honest as a kid it was awesome but when you get older you see the flaws and why people wouldn't like it. As a kid I loved Sonic X I would always watch it over and over and over again. But now looking back it's nothing special. It's still good but not as good as you remember it. Like Inspector Gadget you know it's nothing special but for kids it's great. Because while Sonic X is a good show it does have it's moments that annoy you. But then the bad moments go away and then the good moments come back. And even the opening theme song is enough to get kids hyped. Because my friends who watch this show have kids who always feel the need for speed after watching it. Conclusion Sonic X is a show you might wanna give a try. Not a bad show let it pass.
kevcoop7 First review on IMDb. Sonic the Hedgehog, a name that I grew up with from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Nintendo Gamecube when I played it for the first time ever eight years ago in 2002, and I have played most of his mainstream and spin off games ever since. I have also read the comics, and boy are they deep... I have also seen animated series, from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog to Sonic Underground, but, I'm not here to review them right yet. No, I'm here to review Sonic X, the latest and final animated series of Sonic the Hedgehog, and for good reason.1) The music-The music was fine, although the theme music did kinda get annoying after a while. 2) The animation-Eh, it was fair in some places, but other times it wasn't. Like, for example, I couldn't tell if the ARK was already heading for earth during Shadow and Sonic's fight on the conveyor belts (WTH?!) because the camera moved too much! 3) The voice acting-It was BUTCHERED!!! Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Sonic didn't sound like that in the games! Although Eggman sounds pretty good, not enough though!4) The characters-We got all the main stars (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, etc..) but why the H3!! did any body think that putting so MANY GOSH DARN HUMANS IN THIS?? I mean, yeah, humans are present in the Sonic series, but they don't have that big of a role and are barely there! 5) Chris mother****ing Thorndyke-Yeah, he gets his own special "cell." Okay, where do I begin? Chris is what I call...an unnecessary load of baggage! Because, think about it, he turns the main cast into the background characters! All except Sonic, and he basically steals everybody's thunder! He comforts Shadow in the ARK, HE's basically Sonic's sidekick, and I hear that he was...gay? OKay..weird...anyways, Chris is what makes this series TOTALLY unwatchable! The fights were the only good part and the Super Sonic transformations! Basically, you people are better off watching the original three, reading the comics, and playing the video games!
