katethegreat-3 The Dukes of Hazzard is and always will be the best show ever made.I love it now and always will! John Schneider is the hottest guy to ever walk the earth. Dukes of Hazzard is rocks this world its that awesome! Its a wonderful family oriented show that contains awesome actors. Its one in a million. They don't make these kind of shows anymore. There was chemistry between the actors that you don't find a lot.I don't think there could be any actors that could of done a better job than what they did. If ti weren't for the general lee there wolud have been no show. Its a perfect show with a perfect meaning perfect actors perfect episodes perfecet everything itd just a perfect show. I love it and always will just like i said before. I hope they never stop selling the episodes and merchandise or take it off the air.
ramsfan It is easy to dismiss a show like the Dukes of Hazzard as merely childish, inane nonsense with its slapstick comedy and simplistic buffoonery, but for me growing up as a kid in the 80's, it was just good, clean fun. "The Dukes" reminds us of a time not long ago when escapist fantasy still existed on TV and we weren't overrun with excessive vulgarity, reality shows or cutting edge dramas that dredge up instances of human misery. It had all the elements of enjoyment: a good guys vs. bad guys conflict, car chases, a pretty girl and two rough and tumble guys just having a good time. And thru all the foolishness, and without ever beating the viewer over the head with it, the virtues of southern manners, courtesy and honesty are emphasized. It's too bad the acting in a show like this is never given serious consideration, but Sorrell Booke and James Best, two wonderful character actors with years of great performances to their credit, were outstanding in this show. The Dukes of Hazzard remains a favorite of mine to this day!
ray-280 The show was written mostly for 12 year-old boys....which I was when it premiered. Most 12 year-old boys envied Bo and Luke, were in love with Daisy, wish they had an Uncle Jesse, loved to hate Boss Hogg, and wanted to drive the General Lee and/or jump it over the creeks. The show had a clear-cut vision of good and bad, the good guys won in the end, and everything was resolved in a neat and tidy fashion in an action-packed hour. What's there not to like?Any time capsule of 1970s television would be incomplete without this wonderful, fun show that belongs in any DVD collection, especially in households with young males.
