Reviews

tekawiz I see that a vast majority of the reviews are highly negative. At the same time I believe many of the same reviewers are outside the demographics of this show. I know I am.The show can't be that bad. After all, people are watching it otherwise it would not have lasted for so long. The show is marketed towards young teenage girls and if you're outside that demo, the chances are, you are going to find The Hills unrealistic. No doubt this show is highly unrealistic and if you think about it, it panders to a young teenage girl's fantasy, shopping, fashion, good looking guys, gossiping, Hollywood, successful careers, drama over spilled milk, jet setting, night clubbing, Potterybarn furnished apartments, etc., and all this is happening to a group of girls fresh out of school? But I guess if you're young and hot that kind of stuff happens. There's no doubt at all, The Hills is in a land far far away from reality, so blatant, that the show comes close to crossing the threshold into science fiction. For example, it seems like anybody over the age of 25 does not exist in this universe except for the one evil boss lady at Teen Vogue.Yet I still give the show credit for its high production value. The Hills is very well done and does a brilliant job delivering the subject matter to its target audience.
iva_uzunov yes- it is true- MTV is a business, they make money by providing entertainment, there duty is not to educate the youth or to be moral- they are what they are and they will exist as long as there are people watching these series- they are basically satisfying a need - or perhaps they are creating one... What worries me more is that the series are appealing to so many people, which don t see it critically but are in the contrary almost obsessed with it. I mean- the characters are boring, spoil-ed and vain people, with no motivation (WHATSOEVER!!) to achieve something in life on their own, who are just pretending to live "live the Good life" with some drama here and there to keep the suspense up- I mean- this series are just preventing you from thinking. LIVE THE REAL LIFE INSTEAD OF WATCHING THIS FAKE S**T! I mean even if u feel the need to shut your brain off for a day and not think about anything- there are much better series out there to entertain you- I mean this series are not even funny- there are just EMPTY- no conversation, no action, just a bunch of people with no problems so bored that they have to make problems to feel somehow important... I wouldn't t give it even 1 out of 10 but that s the lowest...!
cwbellor These are difficult times we live in. We have oil spills, a failing economy, earthquakes in Haiti, terrorism. But while our minds are clouded with all these problems, it's easy to forget what constitutes real drama. It's easy to forget about the most difficult questions we often ask ourselves in life. Do I go with the Gucci or the Louis Vuitton shoes? Should I eat sushi every day or every OTHER day? Do I go out with the greasy model/drummer or the slimy rich boy who doesn't have a real job? True, none of the drama on the show's 6 seasons has dealt with the death of a family member, a car crash, contracting a disease or financial troubles. But these kinds of events are somehow rendered insignificant when you learn that someone is so fed up with someone else that they are quite simply "over it!" I won't mention any of the characters specifically because to describe even one of them would be to delve into a life of infinite complexities and potentially life-altering dilemmas. All I will say is that when it comes to watching The Hills, I am definitely not "over it."
canadian_roughneck I watched a couple episodes of this last night, because my friends girlfriend was watching it. It was painful! This is the lamest show ever made! The guys are douche bags and the girls are dramatic little whiners. This is the kind of crap that 9-13 year old girls should watch. My friends girl was trying to tell me that it's all real and non scripted. THAT'S BULL! There is no way that this show is real. The acting is extremely poor. IF this is real, then these people need to be put to sleep. I would never want to live a life like that.BASIC RUNDOWN OF THE HILLS: Material Girls who are rich because of "Mommy and Daddy", have douche bag boyfriends who are rich because of "Mommy and Daddy". Some of the girls like each other, some don't. The odd fight here and there. Constant lame drama, which in the end everything goes back to normal. The girls are naive as hell.Anyone who watches this show is a sheep. 0/10 COMPLETE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
