Reviews

mialeader I know you all might disagree with my rating but honestly, yes this was an epic waste of time and it also landed on a huge cliffhanger but this was a big part of my life somehow...and i spent a lot of time watching this show. All of my emotions fell out to this show and it was amazing even though Amy didn't end up with Ben. I still wish It didn't end like it did but I still liked the different concepts on every episode it left me wanting for more. This show is a type of show you want to binge watch and wish you stopped watching it in the first place. Yet I still love this show and wouldn't mind watching it again with "unrealistic" concepts.
zobigail77 The characters are unbelievable, shallow, and vapid. The word "sex" is used roughly ten million times per episode, and there is nothing that even hints at realism. I watched through the second season in the hopes that the show would redeem itself. I hoped that at least one of the characters would do or say anything believable, but alas. No such luck.Teenagers don't talk about sex frankly. They just don't. They don't discuss masturbation. They don't hold condoms up in the air like sparklers. I'm not saying that people aren't dysfunctional, but the dysfunction is not center stage. People don't act like this, and this entire show is incredibly stupid. I stuck it out through halfway through the second season on Netflix. I'm late to the game, but I figured I'd give it a shot. It sucks. It's terrible. I mean, I thought other shows were terrible, but this really is the terrible cherry on top of the most terrible show ever to have been made. I have no idea how it made it through more than half a season. Hey, Brenda whatever your name is...can I get these hours back? I guess I'm kind of silly for not just giving up after the unbelievable teenagers uttered the word "sex" no less than a million times in the first few episodes, but I wanted to make sure that my hatred of this vapid idiocy was well-deserved. And it is. Don't bother. It's so stupid. So stupid. Worst show ever.
jayantinnc Watching season 1, the most sickening thing was seeing Amy being judged and bullied into keeping the baby when she was making the right choice of finding a good family for him. Especially sickened by her sister's judgmental ranting - her words could practically have come from the mouth of an old-world grandma, not a kid. A prop used by writers to bung in some old-fashioned judgment at the teen mom. Where are the adults and why don't they speak up and explain that Amy is making the right choice? When Amy says - with perfect sense - that she cant be a good mom at 15 the stupid kid simply says "What if you could be" Really? How would that happen and in what universe. And what does she know about it? In a society where adults are having a tough time raising kids why would anyone insist that a kid take on this responsibility. Then she goes on to describe how Amy can do it and still get educated etc. But why should she have to when there's a better option? OK she made a mistake but she's a kid. Forcing an unwanted responsibility on someone who's not ready - in what way is this good for the baby? "Why do you think this is a bad thing" - are you kidding? The worst one was "We could all become better people" - Hey, its your job to provide the baby with a good home, not his job to raise you. The sister - and the writers of this show - are going with emotional reaction, judgement and guilt - NOT with any responsible thought for the baby or the teen mom. Both Amy and the baby deserved a better choice than the bad decision forced on her by guilt. Disgusting.
Kirsten Vogel You can clearly tell the intentions of the writers and creator within the first few episodes: abortions are the devils work & adopting out a baby is also never an option in teen pregnancy. This show really makes me sad to think that young girls are watching this and thinking if you get pregnant as a teen, you MUST keep the baby or everyone (including God) will hate you. Aside from that, Amy is probably the most annoying bitch of a character and I think all the viewers are rooting against her at this point. She is always either angry or sad, never have I seen a happy or excited emotion from her. She treats her parents like dirt and treats Ben like a doormat. Then she bitches about having to watch HER baby because she wants to go out and do stuff with her friends. WORST CHARACTER EVER. The only thing that I enjoy is Amy's dad George, his random comments and actions are actually quite funny and bring the rest of this horrible show up for the couple minutes he's in an episode. I also enjoy Ricky and Adrian, they seem like the only level headed people on the show.
