cmb-54959 The homes really are the stars of this show and by inference, the architects. However, the presenters offer nothing of any insight and their twee glib comments start to grate. Why Piers Taylor feels the need to break out his sharpies and charcoals every time is beyond me. His simplistic drawings tell us nothing we couldn't see with our own eyes. So enjoy the architecture and the views and try to block out the presenters
apourchot-557-308497 I was interested by the subject and started to watch on Netflix, but I stopped; I could not support anymore the unbearable and infuriating commentators. This hysterical woman constantly exclaims for nothing. Her comments are empty and stupid.
vanessa-frank I really enjoyed the hosts - they had a great dynamic together, and their enthusiasm for the various houses was infectious. Caroline Quentin did a great job of making it entertaining and affable, and Piers Taylor is clearly very passionate about his craft. It genuinely felt like they had a blast filming the show. Indeed, Caroline Quentin was actually one of my favorite things about this show, so I very much hope that she returns for a second season. There are so many shows about architecture that are extremely bland - what makes this one so personable is the delightful host interaction. I loved the thematic nature of each episode. By having the homes grouped into thematic episodes it allows you to think about certain kinds of environments, and how they effect architectural choices.I had so much delight watching this show. I deeply hope that Season 2 is commissioned (and that the same hosts are brought back.)
seller-85399 Omg why?? We're the host just polite? The houses looked like a trailer plopped down into the most beautiful settings. Every home looked like a variation of a modern art meuseum. This show should be titled "the Worlds Most Impractical Home's". There was no comfort in the homes. Most of the spaces were only accessible by an outside hallway? Every home was uncomfortable. The hosts? They said the exact opposite of the reality of what was being presented. They looked at a giant rectangular monolith set in a forest and said "wow it blends in seemlesley into the landscape. Really annoying, great to quote with the friend I was the show with. Pierce should get his degree taken back. Anything that was comfortable or a regular part of a home he was completely opposed to. I want to know how far a grocery store/restaurant is to these homes? Most of the homes were in so remote they couldn't drive to them. Where does the sewage go? How do you get water to the building? Electric? IMPRACTICAL!I tried to open my mind up to this show but it was completely ridiculous. Every part of it.
