ikarimullah Although I Never Heard Of The 1980's Anime Beast King Golion And It's Kid Friendly Counterpart Defender Of The Universe But In 2016 Just After All The Horrible Cartoons Ruined Everything Throughout The Past Years This Cartoon Is My Last Line Of Defense Because It's Been Made By The Minds Behind Avatar And Of Course It's Fandom Is Topsy Turvy And It's 2D And 3D Animation Looks Like It's In The Same Universe As The Avatar Franchise Now For The Story Of This Reboot Long Ago Voltron Was Made To Harness Quintessence To Restore Harmony But Then Little Did They Knew That Zarkon Turned On Them And Killed Them All And It Triggered A Devastating War Now That Five Space Cadets Find The Lions To Form Voltron To Defeat Zarkon's Evil Schemes Throughout Seasons 1 And 2 But Seasons 3 To 5 They Added Lotor To The Show And Spoiler Alert If You Like Japanese Anime Esque Action Cartoons It's Where Chicks Dig Giant Robots Just Like Power Rangers Combined With Avatar And Transformers Where There's More Talk More Action Less Gattai
timisshopping The original lion series in 1984-1985 came to be known as "robeast of the week". It was so shallow without any real character development for heroes or villains. I felt voltron vehicle force tried to be the more mature show while the lions were completely vacuous. I was 11 in 1984 and even I grew tiresome of the one dimensional episodes. The legendary defender however, while also a lion force is truly amazing. For one it's a terrific collaboration between Japanese animation and dreamworld studio. You will still get these character emotions which are truly Japanese showing love, anger, frustration, envy etc while all character speaking perfect English. In addition to the great collab which we didn't see in the original, is the fantastic plunge into the mythos and history of the characters. While I'm up to date in the 5th season, so many characters including Pidge, princes and especially Lotor and his lineage (father, mother and friends) are so well fleshed out, we really do care about every single one of them. The series has also taken twists and turns that we never saw before like the princess piloting that blue lion and Lance the traditionally blue paladin piloting the red lion. Meanwhile, Keith, the red paladin isn't even in a lion, but fighting with a Galra rebellion squad. It's all completely out of the box, which makes it that much more realistic and believable. Please make more of this terrific show!!!
OneEightNine Media Voltron Just finished season one. Meh. I mean, it is okay. The story and character development is above average but the sound editing, CGI-animation and action does nothing but cheapen the overall experience. Which is a shame because of how well written the series comes across. But at least the season ends well. This is my first time watching anything Voltron and I'm sold on it. It is basically Power Rangers with a brain. Season one score : 8Update season two: Meh , not as good as season one. Comes off filler until the very last episode which is good but not worth a season of fillerSeason 2 Score: 6 Overall Series Score: 7
stunningsalman When I first saw the reboot of Voltron, the first season, i wasn't sure that it could be surpassed. But second season is way better than the first one. It is one of the best animated series I have seen so far, and I have seen a lot of them. Believe me you won't regret watching it. In fact I was glued to my laptop until the series was finished. So a word of advice if you haven't watched it yet. Then do watch it at once.
