andreacarringtonac I found this gem on Amazon Prime. I am so happy that I stumbled across it and that Amazon Prime has such interesting cross referencing of people, directors and shows. Season 1 was good. Good characters, funny lines, great actors and hilarious camera angles. Kids would love this show. My son and I watched the first few episodes. He lost interest and I devoured the rest of the seasons.Season 2 was great. The actors really came into their own. I knew going in that there were 5 seasons. I think that if I had found this show (and was able to access it in America) in 2006-7 I would have been very sadden for such a long hiatus. Season 3 does not appoint. Although I got to go from Season 2 finale to Season 3 opener in 2 seconds flat, Season 3 is by far my favorite. Bad Vlad is amazing. It had me laughing the entire time. I know that it wasn't really meant to be so comedic but knowing where they were and seeing Vlad so disturbing was needed in the show. Season 4 is great and my second favorite. Malik is a fun addition.Season 5 is a waste of opportunities. The weakness of Vlad and the buffoonery that encompasses the Count is irritating to say the least. When Renfield is your favorite character of the season, you know something went wrong in the writing room. I am glad that everything was tied up in a nice little bow so I don't have to be sad not knowing what happened to the characters.
tigsp5160 this is a really good TV series about a young vampire who doesn't really want to be a vampire, his closest friend is a breather (human), it is aimed at children and teenagers but due to its layered story lines it can also appeal to adults, the BBC have however stopped making the series and have left series 2 on a huge cliffhanger, if you agree that there should be a series 3 sign the petition the link is at the end of this comment there are already over 3500 people who have signed, i really hope they make a 3rd series and that we get to find out what happens with Vlad there is an endless number of possibilities on how they could end that series. http://www.petitiononline.com/yds30108/
Angelus2 This has nothing to do with Bram Stokers novel. Dracula. But nonetheless it is brilliantly devised.Vlad is the son of Dracula and until his sixteenth birthday he will remain in human form until he called up to become a Vampire. But Vlad has other plans he wishes to remain human....or turn into a good Vampire. The show itself is brilliant written for a children TV show and I found myself laughing to some of the brilliant one liners and the hilarious adventures of the Van Helsings. The actors are all perfect in their chosen roles, Keith Lee Castle who plays Dracula is captivating as Dracula, he plays the Prince of Darkness with flamboyance and menace.....Better then any other show the BBC has created.
Hannah This is a really wild and wacky, OK its on kids TV but it is brill. I got around to watching it when I was ill but now I just have to record it each week. The cast is all really good from the kid actors to the adults, definitely including the 600 year old Count (who is pretty damn yummy). But the whole thing is just so great to watch …and its funny. Really nice characterisation by the actors all in all it's more or less perfect, apart from when they show it…Thursdays at 5pmBBC is putting out some good stuff at the moment and some absolute dross but why the heck doesn't this sort of quality get some sort of push into the schedule or at least some mention have they ever heard of cult following?
