Joel I really enjoyed watching this movie for several reasons.Firstly, (and let's get this out of the way right now) it was written by the same person that gave us "Eight Days a Week," another narrative classic which gives guys like me hope.Second, it delves into not only the male frame of mind, but also takes us into the other side of the spectrum and shows us how women think about men. This time around, we have a different character: Matthew, who, during a blackout on a college campus, has a sexual encounter with an unknown girl in an elevator. Unfortunately, when he comes to in the elevator, the only thing that can connect him to said unknown girl is her panties.Just like "Eight Days a Week," Matthew also has a friend with an absurd quirk. (Think Peter's friend with an even more disgusting prop.) I've noticed in these movies that the narrator has such vivid descriptions of their objectives or possible threats... it's like there's something even I could stand to brush up on.Finally, I love how it all ties together. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, so I'll just leave you all with this: anyone who sees Michael Davis movies will become obsessed with Michael Davis.10/10
gmboy57382 Not a terribly great movie, but I'd honestly recommend it. Not because the story was great, it isn't. Not because the acting was fabulous. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't stellar. What the movie did have going for it was honesty and reality. I can clarify too much without giving the ending(s) away, but situations would come up and for a few minutes, it would progress just like any other movie, then they would backtrack, pointing out that life doesn't happen that way, then show it the way it really happens. There is dialog concerning real-life problems that movies generally don't acknowledge. It is billed as a comedy, and it was funny, but I enjoyed it for the subject matter. We'll all being talking about men vs. women till the end of time, most of us will never make it to a point of real understanding, but I appreciate when somebody (in this case the writer/director) gives it an honest attempt. If you are stuck without something to watch, consider this one.
ell_wu Teen comedies in general are pretty silly and stupid. Most of these movies know it and they don't even TRY to take themselves seriously. At least they're honest about it.100 Girls, on the other hand, tries to deliver "insight" into sexism and differences the sexes but really just goes out of it's way to show 2 hours of wishful thinking from the perspective of a "nice guy".Basically, this movie reduces men and women relationships down to such asinine levels it hurts. It first does so by reducing men down to 2 archtypes: Assholes and Nice Guys. Ron and Crick? Assholes, and both are just severely insecure with themselves. And of course, they're so unbelievably misogynist that by comparison, the main character's misogyny almost seems benign. But let's see what this kid does: He breaks into a women's dorm, invades half of their privacies, vandalizes half of the dorm facilities, and all this because he was looking for that one girl that he might or might not have met. Yeah, if that's not friggin' creepy stalker behavior, I don't know what is.And of course, all these women are just SWOONING over him. Not a single one finds him utterly creepy. Not one.OH yeah, and we have strawman of a professor, the feminazi of women's studies. Great. Another caricature born out of ignorance for the studies.ugh, at least American Pie had the decency not to include a goddamn manifesto in its dialogue.
Whistler84 Alright... So there's a bunch of things I could write about plot, cinematography, acting and whatchamacallit. But I won't. This is a totally wonderful film, filled with humor and sweetness. The kind of film that you want everyone to see - so that you can get across that, yes this one hits the spot! I was sixteen when I first saw this film. Six years later I still see it as my bible on how to treat women, or rather, this film is my gospel. The main character Matt expresses in full and all how a regular nice guy acts and thinks about and around women.Guys should see this film to see how you should think and act.Girls should see this film to see that there are guys out there who worship the feminine.Everyone should see this film to realize that the greatest thing on earth is finding someone that complements you, whether it being a boy or a girl.
