Antonio Cani This is truly awful. A real insult to the original and the vampire genre. Why does Hollywood insist on making awful sequels to everything? It cant be to make money because they have enough of it. The acting is terrible. The storyline is weak and not very well thought out. So many script problems I will not bother to start describing them. The original was a refreshing piece of filming to the vampire genre. This is god awful sequel is just a another generic attempt to make money and weaken the genre.I wish I could give it a lesser score than 1 out of 10. Queen Elizabeth Change in actress Melissa George from the first movie to Kiele Sanchez sucks. Blood not convincing enough to be kool aid. Actress is wearing the ugliest underwear during the PG sex scene. Characters are all babies for a supposedly bada** group of vampire hunters. The character Todd definitely a snooze fest and all the characters spend the whole time crying and complaining about the situations they put themselves in.. The Title doesn't fit plot...how is it 30days of night or dark days in the middle of sunny California. It was more fun setting up an IMDb account and writing this review than it was watching the rest of the movie. I couldn't even tell you how it ended. But on the bright side though Lilith had a sweet dress. The sex scene was over with pretty fast. It didn't have a shaky camera for the most part. The vampires costumes were pretty decent. The makeup, besides the blood, was convincing. In summary, not the best, but not the worst vampire movie out there.
tl12 What a let down. I loved 30 Days of Night. It was one of the very few films that even manage to get me on edge. It reached for the really frightening. Its vampires were a new take on an old story and there were real production value in the film. Now, forget all I said because none of it applies to this, so called, sequel. As soon as I saw the previews that ran before this film on DVD I knew that it had been put in the lowest category of releases. All you have to do is see a preview of Piranha 3D and you know you made a mistake.Too bad, because I would think there was more worthwhile story to be found. Unfortunately these producers didn't even look.AVOID!
James Kwan 30 Days of Night was a fun action-horror film with literary value. The inferior sequel attempts to be just fun action-horror, in the spirit of Blade, and fails even at that.Reminiscent of The Hills Have Eyes 2 (sequel to the remake) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV series), this insipid snore fest had me guffawing every couple of minutes. I haven't rooted for the deaths of dumb characters like this since the kids in Jurassic Park.Where the first film surprised at every turn, the sequel seems to setup clever reversals but never follows through--the writers seem to take their dumb first idea every time, totally predictable and implausible.Apart from the most unromantic, awkward, borderline-inappropriate love scene I can recall, there were no highlights worth mentioning. Avoid this tripe at all cost.
