A well-done Romantic-Comedy is rare & I cherish it when I see a really good one. And 'A Lot Like Love' is exactly the kinda ROM-COM I cherish & entirely fall for. This is True Romance, depicted on celluloid, with simplicity.'A Lot Like Love' tells the story of Two Individuals (Ashton Kutcher & Amanda Peet), whose relationship slowly evolves from lust to friendship to romance over the course of seven years.'A Lot Like Love' is a strongly constructed love-story, thats filled with funny & amusing moments. Colin Patrick Lynch's Screenplay is a complete winner. From start to finish, you're invested in this near-decade long love-story, about Two Individuals. The Writing touches the core of your heart, without ever succumbing to melodrama. Nigel Cole's Direction is top-notch. Cinematography is eye-filling. Editing is quite crisp.Performance-Wise: Ashton Kutcher & Amanda Peet, underrated actors, both, make for a genuinely adorable on-screen couple. Kutcher is perfectly awkward, while Peet exudes honesty. They are infectious together & lead the show with their performances. Of the supporting cast, Kathryn Hahn & Kal Penn leave a strong impression. On the whole, 'A Lot Like Love' depicts romance in its truest form.

I was flipping through the channels and caught half an hour to the ending on life time. If it wasn't for demand, I don't think I would have rented it. I went through the movie once but got distracted but had a crush on the movie.Later on that night, I saw it again and fell in love with the movie. What chemistry these two actors have and the story line is beautiful. I always have been involved with men who are first my friends and I am in a similar situation with a past flame. I'm not a fan of Ashton but he was adorable in this movie. Can't wait to see it again. Its cute, funny, playful, tearful, happy romantic comedy. The music is fantastic too. How come I never saw this. Please rent it.

Yeah, I've seen it more than a couple of times but it is still SO ENJOYABLE.Ashton gets to show his acting chops, as well as his singing ability and he and Amanda Peet have a great chemistry. So many cute and funny moments. Not "hah-hah" funny, but just really cute.Ashton's use of ASL is also good to watch - the interacting with Ty Giordano is great. Plus, the soundtrack is great. You think you know where it's going until a few cricks happen. And then the end, which is entirely satisfactory, helped along by 'Oliver's sister' shouting her favorite phrase at him, which helps break up the emotion of the ending. Rent it or see it. It's really a "feel good" movie.

OK. So, I'm a guy. Who loves sports and beer. But I also appreciate a well done romantic comedy. The good: Four Weddings and A Funeral, Love Actually, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. The bad: almost anything else I've seen Ashton Kutcher do (Just Married, What Happens in Vegas, No Strings Attached). However, this movie was great for me. I think there were 2 main reasons: 1) The chemistry between Peet and Kutcher is as good as I've seen. I really question how there are people on here that didn't see that (I'm assuming by the comments that they were blinded by pre existing biases against these actors). The scene in the car with her singing and him trying to tell a story is one of the best I've seen for this sort of light genre.2) At the root of it, it was a very relatable story. Sure, there was lots of far fetched scenarios, but I'm sure many of us have the one that got away, or the one where the timing never worked out (though in life, there isn't usually the happy ending to this story, and that's fine) Anyhow, I keep coming back to this film. As I tell people, I'm sure I overrate this film above its merits. But it's simple. These movies are supposed to entertain you, and pull you into the story. It's all subjective, but mission accomplished for me. Rent it if you want a light night in.
