the temptation to blame/minimize this film is not small. and it is the result, in general, of hypocrisy. because it is not exactly a provocative /easy film but vehicle for an interesting hypothesis. because it gives real good performances and a story who is more than pretext for hot scenes. because it is a film about marriage, temptation and the thin line between teacher and student. because it is a simple film about happiness. and, maybe, nothing more. so, a nice film , more complex than majority of its public accept.

How could this have gotten such a low rating? (Keep in mind I love cheesy 70's/80's flicks) It's a sexy movie but it's far from trashy. It's got real emotions running through the entire movie mostly thanks to Leslie Anne Warren. I can't get over how she doesn't have any lips though. You don't see that nowadays thanks to collagen. Please understand, I am not praising collagen injections, they're obnoxious. That was sarcasm. Her character is such a prude it's annoying. She's just adorable when she gets dressed up in that little red dress so it leaves me to wonder why any woman would choose to go around looking as plain as she did through most of this movie.Christopher Atkins is too adorable in this movie. How could any woman not crush on that kid, married or not. He's irresistible. His strip tease was really sexy. I would like to personally thank the choreographer for keeping his dance number "manly" and most of all for not putting him in a thong, that would have killed it. Word of advice guys, that is not sexy on ANY man, not even on Tatum Channing (drool). I have loved this movie since I was a kid. Atkin's strip tease surely is A Night in Heaven.

I was lucky enough to watch "A Night in Heaven" in 1984, when it was shown in my country. I loved this film. Every time I have a chance, I review it, since I bought a copy in VHS a couple of years ago from a store that sells oldies in Ft. Laud. I don't know why, but watching it always lifts my spirits. Maybe it's because I was in my early twenties then, could relate to Christopher Atkins's character, and also, because I recall being in some of the places shown in the film. I think a especial edition should come out in DVD, including the parts which were edited, because it should have been a little longer. For instance, developing more the part when Whitney encounters and old friend. (Did he have an affair with her?). Was that the motive that made him accept the situation of his wife having an encounter with Ricky Rocket? Anyway, for me it was a great film, one I can keep watching over and over for years to come. Plus, great music and score from Bryan Adams.

This is a terrible movie, but if you want to drool over a beautiful hunk of man, this flick can't be beat. Christopher Atkins, a GORGEOUS young actor who hit it big in the 80's by posing shirtless in teen magazines, semi-nude in VANITY FAIR and ROLLING STONE, and completely nude in a PLAYGIRL spread. He's a drop-dead hunk, and that seems to be the only reason for this stupid film. This movie runs for barely 80 minutes, and I think that everyone involved in this project decided that they really didn't have a movie, so they turned it into a Christopher Atkins flesh-fest. Lesley Ann Warren stars as Faye, a community college teacher who fails Atkins in her speech class. Faye's wild sister from Chicago comes to visit and drags Faye to a male strip club, where the star attraction is "Ricky the Rocket..." CHRISTOPHER ATKINS! Faye thinks twice about failing him after he seductively strips in front of her, grabs her hand, and puts her hand on his penis. What follows is Warren becoming addicted to watching Atkins strip, while her marriage crumbles. Throughout this very brief movie, we see Atkins shirtless, in underwear, nude and soapy in the shower, and nude while humping Lesley Ann Warren, who remains fully clothed. Atkins also prances around in short-short-short hot pants in the scenes that he's not nude. Directed by John G. Alvidsen ("Rocky!" "The Karate Kid!")
