Bollywood movies never seem to get the New York aesthetic right and as resident Newyorker, it's offensive to see each time. When will they learn that you can't walk across a south street seaport street onto a street in Queens? An NYPD officer/coast guard officer will never drive up to you and warn you to get off a bridge after a failed suicide attempt. The water in the East/Hudson River is neither clear nor clean. If you enter either river on January 1st (the height of a brutal NY winter) and do not exit within the five minutes, you're as good as dead. I mean, I could go on but let's get past that.The story is very simple, boy meets girl when boy has reached a breaking point in his life and vice versa. After a failed dual suicide attempt, the both decide to live it up for twenty days after which they'll try again to commit suicide. If you take away the whole issue of suicide, this movie is essentially a more dramatic version of the Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor film 'Jab we met'. Ranbir Kapoor (Akash) continues to shine as a fantastic actor among his mediocre peers and his strong presence as a leading man forces the normally lukewarm Priyanka Chopra (Kiara) to step out of her comfort zone. Their chemistry is undeniable. Blink and you'll miss Zayed Khan in a flashback cameo role. It was an okay watch, lots of songs and strong performance by Ranbir Kapoor. Kiara's apartment in NYC (also Hilary Swank's character's apartment in 'The Resident') as well as her car nicknamed 'blush' deserve special props as well-used props.

There was about 30 mins of the movie in the middle that was interesting. The movie starts out weakly on a very bogus premise and ends in an even more pathetic fashion. Most of movie is super corny and almost unbearable to watch. It is completely predictable to the point that most of us who have watched such movies can predict what the next line and expression will be. Please, stop wasting time and money making crap like this. Sid, can you please try to make a movie in a different genre? Ranbir, can you stop picking loser scripts? Music was good but the movie is a total suck.4/10

Firstly, I am not so much into commercial movies! and this is my 1st movie review ever. Siddharth Anand has done a great job with the direction and the acting of both the main leads is good as well. I never liked priyanka before, but, she was different and better in this. Ranbir was great as usual. Now, coming to the movie....i read a lot of comments here and one in particular compared it to 'Bucket List'. That was a wonderful movie but there isn't anything similar in both except the wish-list before dying. Moreover, in that movie both the leads knew they were going to die and in this they actually want to die because they run out of reasons to live. That changes from the scene in the hospital where the doctor explains to akash about life which eventually leads to hope and pursuit of happiness. Now that was good rather than in a movie like 'Love Aaj Kal' in which it takes forever for the male lead to decide about love and the female lead cannot decide till she gets married to another person---WOW! What different was that movie from 'Hum Tum'? Well, that's my opinion and everyone is entitled to one. I don't want to drag on this but i would say that this movie has it good elements as well as other. The songs are good and totally situational. The message i got from this movie is one aimed against suicides along with some masala, fun & adventure. Nothing wrong with that or is there? Well, you'll have to decide it for yourself. Finally, i would conclude by giving a definite 'Go! for the movie' and wouldn't attach the words like rubbish to it.

Watch or Not? Please don't waste your time in watching this movie.The only reason I decided to watch this movie is because of Ranbir Kapoor. I enjoy his acting genes (read dad Rishi Kapoor).Storyline: 2 people meet in a bridge on a night attempting suicide. Then Priyanka keeps talking, preventing Ranbir from jumping thus getting caught by sea guards. The rest of the movie, Priyanka keeps talking n giggling n giggling n giggling. I just wish these 2 would have committed suicide in the first scene itself. saving 1000 souls who died after watching the movie.But yet another take on yet another romantic couple Meet-Coincidences-Fall in Love-Fight-Kiss n make up-blah blah blah blah. Its a mix of copied ideas of several Hollywood flicks(e.g. Bucket List). But even though having such great movies to inspire from, the movie has been presented in completely disarray and to-an-extent of being illogical.I slept midway knowing what the ending would be. When I woke up, the ending was exactly that.
