itxtroy First I saw the Bollywood movie DOSTANA about this type of Gay related comedy, I liked that alot! then after searching for some best comedy movies about vacation, I found this one. While watching this movie, I REALLY LAUGHED A LOT!! And after finished watching the whole 1hr 37mins film, I can say that I've watched the BEST gay comedy movie EVER!!
vincentlynch-moonoi This is one of those films where you find yourself sitting and thinking: "What was the director and star thinking?" To start with, who was the intended audience? Gays? Well, let's see...it dregs up every stereotype about gay people you can think of and is patently offensive toward gay people. Straights? Well, let's see...it's about gay cruise. Nope, probably not. People from Sweden? Nope...the Swedish girls here are the only group insulted more than the gay men. I guess that leaves...well, no audience...as was proved by a box office take of just $15 million, against a production cost of $20 million. There have been films with worse financial losses...but not many.Cuba Gooding is a very good, and very appealing actor...and he has a flair for comedy. But he has made more poor choices on films to appear in than almost any actor I can think of. It's a potential being wasted over and over again. And then there's Cuba's co-star -- Horatio Sanz. Unless you're an SNL fan, you're probably saying, "Who?" There's nobody else in the film worth mentioning. And even Roger Moore oughta be kicked in the butt for appearing in such a dud as such a repulsive character.I won't go so far as to say that anyone in this film ought not be allowed to ever appear in a film again...but it's almost that bad.As to laughs, there are some. But this film has more dirty jokes that are filthy and disgusting than almost any film I've seen.Total thumbs down, but, Cuba, you make quite a convincing gay guy!
Jackson Booth-Millard It sounded like a follow on from Road Trip, then I saw the poster of the girl on the large banana, and then I saw who was in it, and I decided to see why the critics don't like it. Basically Jerry Robinson (Razzie nominated Cuba Gooding Jr.) has spent months feeling depressed after breaking up with the woman he wanted to marry, Felicia (Vivica A. Fox). To get away from all their troubles, he and his best buddy Nick Ragoni (Road Trip's Horatio Sanz) book a trip on a cruise liner, if only they hadn't upset the booking agent Brian (Artie Lange) and his boyfriend Michael (Will Ferrell). They have been put on a gay cruise for gay men to meet and mingle for four days and no way to escape, being chatted up, eyed and fondled by the hundreds of homosexuals, including Lloyd Faversham (Sir Roger Moore). Thankfully, Jerry manages to find the only woman on the cruise, dance teacher Gabriella (Rush Hour 2's Roselyn Sanchez), and when Nick shoots down a helicopter, a dozen bikini babes end up boarding, including gorgeous Inga (Victoria Silvstedt) and sex-crazed coach Sonya (Lin Shaye). While Nick is trying to get along with the gays, and have his way with Inga, unintentionally getting with Sonya, Jerry is continuing the pretence of being gay to stay close to Gabriella, who feels guilty turning him. It is when Felicia comes looking to take him back that Jerry is exposed as being straight to Gabriella, thankfully they get the happy ending they want when Jerry and Nick run out of the wedding. Also starring Bob Gunton as Boat Captain, Richard Roundtree as Felicia's Dad and Maurice Godin as Hector. Why Moore agreed to be in this is anyone's guess. It is one of the stupidest comedies I know, with all the worst stereotypes, gross-out and completely awful jokes, and an ultimately abysmal story to go with it, one to miss! It was nominated the Razzie for Worst Director for Mort Nathan. Poor!
dobbin-4 Boat trip is the 2002 movie starring Cuba Gooding Junior and Horanta Sanz that I originally only watched it because of the 60 seconds Will Ferrell was in it for. The movie is about Jerry and Nick who mistakenly get on a gay trip after a gay and angry travel agent(Will Ferrell) sends them maliciously on a cruise for homosexuals. The movie is pretty funny while will definitely never make it even close to the top 100 best comedy movies ever it is good for a few laughs. I think that Cuba Gooding Junior would have had a lot of fun doing this and Horanto Sanz is really creepy but I think he was meant to be. Overall I think this movie was lots of fun and you should sit down for 90 minutes and laugh out loud. I rate this movie 63%. This movie would be most liked by people 15-25.
