DRUGLAWED is the explosive documentary exposing how New Zealand has been co-opted by the US into fighting the failed War On Drugs. Filmed in six countries over four years, this is the documentary that finally clears the smoke around the international prohibition of cannabis. Over the last 100 years the US government has forced its drug control policies on almost every country on earth. 40 years since Richard Nixon declared the War On Drugs in 1972, 22 million Americans have been arrested for marijuana. Only one country in the world has higher arrest and conviction rates: New Zealand. DRUGLAWED examines how New Zealand fell in lockstep with US policies, and shows how smaller countries can break out.

fckoff-85081 Simply astonished by the way this film was put together! Great editing, solid camera work, excellent graphics, well-structured and highly entertaining from beginning to end. Amazed at how this film encapsulates so many aspects of the failed Drug War and by the original content which deviates from the same fact list that most films of this subject cover - especially the history of NZ cannabis being established by a Catholic order of nuns. What would Mother Mary Aubert say about the prohibition of her most valuable crop? This is the kind of activist film that should be on every TV station. Download this film so that the producers can make as sequel!
helenhunter1970 I loved this film. I thought I knew a lot about the subject, but this really opened my eyes. To think that the first person to grow cannabis in New Zealand is becoming a saint! What would Mother Mary think of all this? The government shows its ignorance of our history and its conceit by maintaining this evil prohibition! How long is it going to take before things change? Every member of Parliament should be forced to watch this film! The hemp history segment was particularly revelatory - imagine what the world would be like today if we had fields of hemp instead of gaping holes in the earth and under the sea to provide us with all our fuel and mineral needs!
davejagaal this is how cruel prohibition is: dangle a highly profitable carrot in front of humans then grab one out of 100 that bite the carrot and imprison or execute them. As the queue of motivated humans stretch as far as the eye can see. How futile, how evil.At the turn of last century you could buy cocaine from your local pharmacy. They were definitely more intelligent and civilised times. Now we have laws that promote the exact opposite of their intended purpose ! Incredible but true, and sadly the uninformed brainwashed peanut gallery applauds every token "win" in this destructive evil game. All law enforcement officers : listen to ex AFP chief Mike Palmer and join L.E.A.P !
Sandy Mulqueen Druglawed gives a comprehensive history of cannabis use in NZ, starting with it's introduction by Catholic nuns in 1860's. It is an enjoyable watch and very informative for those with little knowledge of the subject. Films like this play an important role in the fight for drug law reform by presenting an alternative to the political propaganda and misinformation that has dominated media coverage over the decades since the start of prohibition. I recommend this documentary to anyone wishing to better inform their medical practitioners of the historical and legitimate use of cannabis as medicine. It is suitable for a wide audience and could be used for public or private screenings to increase awareness of this important subject.
