rajatdahiyax Escape from Planet Earth is a 2013 Canadian-American 3D computer animated comedy film produced by Rainmaker Entertainment and distributed by The Weinstein Company, directed by Cal Brunker, and starring the voices of Rob Corddry, Brendan Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Shatner, Jessica Alba, Craig Robinson, George Lopez, Jane Lynch and Sofía Vergara. On the planet Baab, dashing astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero and master of daring rescues. However, Scorch does not work alone; his nerdy brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA, often lends quiet, behind-the-scenes support. When a distress signal arrives from a dangerous planet, Scorch ignores Gary's warnings and sets out on a rescue mission. Scorch soon finds himself caught in a trap set by an evil enemy, and it's up to Gary to save him.
Filvies144 Now I saw this movie twice before. It wasn't a success for me. The animation is decent however cheap and very boring looking, there might be some funny parts, but that's about it. The writing isn't very good, its not very exciting after a long time, its just forgettable. The characters are so horrible and annoying. It was made in 2013, home of some bad animation like this, Free birds, Walking with dinosaurs, and the unsuccessful Planes movie (I haven't seen it, but I've heard its pretty bad.) So overall, this film was mediocre and poorly written. So save your money and watch a better space movie like Star wars or Galaxy quest. They are both live action, and better than this. This is a film that should've been nominated at the Razzies, but wasn't Story: 2/10 Animation:4/10 Characters:2/10 3/10
jaredsemingson Animated films are usually a hit or miss. Well, this one hit it right on target. Made for the young, old, whoever. Just an all around good film. The whole time we root for these characters. I was entertained from beginning to end. There was never a dull moment and the music really sets the tone for every scene. Each character is so different and their rapport is refreshing. The animation is top-notch. I don't usually go out of my way to see an animated film unless it's Finding Dory. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this one so I had to let the readers know. FUNNY, EXCITING, INTERESTING, HEART-FELT. I have to admit I got a little teary eyed in a couple scenes, over an animated film? "Come on man you're better than that." Nobody saw, it's all good. Everything you hope to find in this movie is there. Happy summer at the movies.
Roland E. Zwick Despite voice work by Brandon Fraser, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rob Corddry, William Shatner, Jessica Alba, George Lopez, Jane Lynch, Sofia Vergara, Ricky Gervais and Steve Zahn, "Escape From Planet Earth" starts off with a clever premise that is quickly cut off at the knees by mediocre writing and animation. Filled with weak helpings of anachronistic in-jokes and puns, the script by Bob Barlen and director Cal Brunker turns the old invasion-from-outer-space scenario on its head by depicting it from the aliens' viewpoint. But nothing very interesting or clever is done with it, so we wind up bored for most of the duration. More lethargy-prone five-year-olds might be entertained by it though.
