xristoff93 Where do I begin with?.....It was like a bazzar of clichés.I am usually not bothered by clichés or classics, especially in horror films, but in this particular one,all I could think of after the first 10 minutes was C-L-I-C-H-E !We have a group of teenagers, driving with a car in a remote cabin in the woods.Of course nobody knows they are there, almost nobody amongst them knows that and they never stop to question the sighting of a weird creature until it starts killing them no matter the opportunities they had to check out.We have a white male leader,he is kinda dumb but with a SEEMINGLY clever not blonde girlfriend. Then there is the black guy,who is REALLY dumb with an even dumber blonde, very sexy girlfriend. He is tough, chiseled and always ready to curse and start a brawl. Then there is the weird weed-smoking camera-man who nobody likes.Ring any bells?...The group meets the creature at the very beginning of the movie, but what can be more important than healthy wondering "what was that?" and survival?Oh I know!Making a video in the most remote area possible about people who dive in a lake with their bikes. After that point, they encounter the strange creature a couple of times but always ignore it until it gets angry and tries to crash them.Of course, what better way to ensure the creature finds you?You smoke weed,go outside all alone in the middle of the night and start screaming like a maniac in a shameful effort to speak "it's language" and attract it.The next morning they try to escape but there is a branch pinned through their car's front windshield,so naturally their jeep becomes totally useless.I mean com'on,no car ever starts up without a windshield, right? Then there are various scenes with stupidity levels far over 9000.People getting smashed while their friends choose to just stand and film them die, falling over a cliff but instead of running filming it,a huge monster that cannot fit through a door has an underground nest so small, that a normal person must crawl in order to squeeze through, women always yelling, guys always shouting every time on the worst moment possible, sudden outbursts of sadness giving up life-at least for 30 seconds, then remembering other people don't actually matter, giving you can get away- or anger wasting bullets to the air and so on so on....The clichés never stop and idiotic decisions the group makes only manages to show the lack of imagination concerning the ways they could die.The monster itself,Mr.saskatsatun or whatever they call it,is Bigfoot but only manages to look like a mutated diseased gorilla. The whole movie walks over the borders of unbelievability.I do not know if I am being too harsh or if I would like it more had not I seen so many found-footage movies, but it seemed boring, unoriginal, full of clichés and ridiculous. You could not empathize with the characters, you not could believe their impossible reactions. If it's your first found footage movie or you are under 16 or you are a big fan of Bigfoot, then there is a chance you'll like this.Personally I was hoping for the monster to kill everyone so it could get over. 4/10 and that's only because I have seen worse.
Zbigniew_Krycsiwiki This hand-held-footage tale of a group of college-aged people on a camping trip being set upon by Sasquatch isn't great, but it does have its moments.Moments of suspense as they hear sometimes far away sounds, moments of terror as they hear Sasquatch growling and running toward them. One horrifying moment when we see what's his name trying to get away by racing away on a bike, and the creature running along side him, keeping up, with no difficulty. Also two moments of annoying behaviour from obnoxious characters, for no other reason than to have a pair of cheap jump scares within a couple of minutes' time (blasting the car horn, and then slamming the brakes) I don't have a problem with shaky cam, if it suits the plot of the film. My problem with it is that I think it's difficult to sustain a full length movie with it. The creature effects were decent, the acting was hit and miss, there was a bit of atmosphere in the shots of the cabin and woods, but I wonder if the film would have played better with some occasionally stationary camera work, with mostly just Sasquatch's scenes, and a few establishing shots presented as found footage? As it is, it seems like two thin ideas (found footage, and Sasquatch) mashed together and padded to full length. I agree with its 5/ 10 IMDb user rating.
Robert Schlie This movie was okay and had it's moments. But as a person who has actually had an encounter with this creature they failed on many of true nature of the beast.First off the Bigfoot scream, they failed big time on that one as well as saying at the start that Bigfoot is not docile. My encounter was just the opposite and totally unprovoked. Plus the reason there is no stories of Bigfoot attacking anyone is because do you really think the one being attacked would survive the onslaught of a 9-10 foot beast? It is an animal and not tamed or domesticated. But I digress. The movie was like I said okay but not any where near believable.
alicekota well to say there are some awful movies ranked above 7 on the site and here we have a movie that initially you think is the same old found footage and ends up having a promising suspense delivery and an actual plot and is not on a higher Rank, i can throw up a spoiler here with an insight for people who already seen it, (in the ending scene the film shows the entire ''being chased by bigfoot'' actually ''Has'' a reason to be, so the movie was not the typical footage or slasher horror film, it had an actual storyline well thought and well driven to the audience giving it a nice explanation to the events on the film) so again to insure my humble opinion, i enjoyed this movie and surprised me with being probably the best suspense footage of the last couple of years.
