sexystarwarslover When i first heard that Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy and American dad was doing a Family Guy Star Wars episode entitled "Blue Harvest" i thought 'oh this is too funny and i have to see this' and after many months, i finally got to see it, but not on TV but brought the DVD just this month and i could not stop laughing! Being a Star Wars fan first before i was a fan of Family Guy, i knew the Star Wars movies well and after seeing Family Guy episodes, i knew it would be full of gags and laughs, "I sited my pants" Stewie as Darth Vader says to Lois as Leia and Adam West as Tarkin and having Herbert as Obi Wan Kenobi was truly well casting as Chris was Luke Skywalker. i thought having Cleveland as R2 was very original and funny, lines like, "Yeah! that's how we do it in my neighborhood, b*****!" or Peter as Han Solo, "Oh you mean that thing you just found out about three hours ago and are now judging me for not believing in it?" The DVD contains scenes that were not on the television broadcast, that i did not know about until the commentary pointed out, which goes through all the details that went into making the story, including guest stars of the episode, not to mention features such as "The making of Blue Harvest" "A conversation with George Lucas" "Family Guy Star Wars clip show", it's amazing to see how many Star Wars gags are in the episodes and an "Introduction to Family Guy".If you love Star Wars and Family Guy, then this is for you, you'll laugh like you've never laughed before
jisaacs1 This is one of the Single Best (TM) Star Wars parodies I have ever seen. Not only did they make extensive use of the John Williams soundtrack, they also gave credit to him, and even included him and the London Symphony Orchestra as characters (not to mention the multi-talented Danny Elfman), but they actually reproduced in exquisite detail many of the critical special effects (from the original, not the special edition)! Also, the references to Robot Chicken's parody (not even nearly as good) and Cartoon Network (carefully, and as such, even more skillfully avoiding references to Fox) were particularly priceless! If these folks were given carte Blanche and an unlimited budget for the entire saga . . . Oh - My - G-O-D! I can only hope . . . !
samcracc This is episode is Hilarius. There are characters in Star Wars. Peter Griffen as Han Solo, Lois Griffen as Princes Liea, Herbert as Obi One Konobi, Chris Griffen as Luke Skywalker, Quagmire as Cp30, Cleveland as R2D2 and Brian the dog as Chewbacca. Thats Hilarius when Han Solo and Chewbacca get the couch from the garbage thats new. The words where funny on Family Guy on Star Wars. Thats hysterical when a man does a lightsabber on that nosed character from Star Wars 1. This happens that the lights where not on so Peter Griffen tells the story about the Star Wars. This episode is Hilarius you will like this episode and so does the characters look.
glenn_rogers-com Hi, I wanted to comment on the season premiere of the Family Guy. Wow, what an episode. Not to give too much away, any fan of the show will love this episode. I thought the animation was first rate. It reminded me of the animation of the Simpsons movie. Some scenes were pretty much third dimensional. I liked the shots of the planets and of the spaceships. Also, it was a pretty accurate take off of the first Star Wars movie, which I saw as a kid. I was wondering who going to play Obi Wan Kenobi and I was right on my guess, the old man pervert, and Stewie as Darth Vader was hilarious too. I did notice that Meg wasn't involved though. Also, I liked the Robot Chicken conversation at the end, with Chris and Peter arguing about it. That's an in joke, because Seth Green is a creator of Robot Chicken and he is the voice of Chris. I would say that was Family Guy at it's best last night. There are so many bad shows on TV nowadays, it's great to see there is some good shows left that actually believe in good and creative writing and film-making. I am so glad that shows like Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park are still around. They are a ray of hope in a vast wasteland of mediocrity, bad acting and writing. God, Simpsons has been on for 18 years and I still get laughs out of it.
