Great premise for a film with an emphasis on faith and family, but was completely overshadowed by the significant plot holes that anyone could spot. Someone miserably failed a geography lesson coming up with this garbage. It was filmed in Louisiana and they even mention the name of a parish and speak of Louisiana on several occasions, but it is set in NC and the characters in one scene travel to Buncombe County (Asheville) to the courthouse. That's in NC, people! Hollywood, as a NC resident, let me give you a brief lesson: Louisiana and NC are not one in the same, nor are they a short drive from each other. And speaking of a drive, what doctor would drive cross country in a Beamer?? LA to Louisiana or NC would be several days drive and for someone to be that put together but not change clothing is highly unlikely. Trust me, my family moved cross country from Georgia to California and it took 4 days; not an afternoon. Also, throughout the film, the main character fails to mention that she's engaged which is the whole reason for the cross country excursion! Just no attention to detail with this movie at all, and this is coming from a big Candace fan!

Finding Normal is a great movie, that shows us how doing what God wants in your life is much more important then making a bundle of money! Yes, we need a certain amount of money to be secure and healthy, but we don't need to be millionaires to be happy.A lady physician, who is engaged to a greedy doctor learns this lesson, when she speeds through a little country town, called Normal. After she gets stopped by a policeman for speeding, she is escorted to the judge in Normal. I don't want to give away all of the fun details, but this movie is heartwarming and wonderful!Like many of the other viewers of this movie, I am happy that, Finding Normal is a movie for all ages. Although the theme is mostly for adults, Finding Normal is a movie that my 9 and 11 year old granddaughters enjoyed. This non-rated film has no profanity, immoral sex scenes, or shocking violence. It is a meaningful, sweet movie!

There are so many errors in this film, it is nearly ludicrous.A successful woman surgeon, leaving Los Angeles to drive to New York for a job in the Hamptons where she will making obscene amounts of money is caught speeding and, unable to pay the fine, she sentenced to three days' community service in a small rural NC town. She is taken under the wing of the judge, a black man who guides her through several poignant experiences and community gatherings wherein she finds God and changes the direction of her life.The whole premise of the movie is preposterous, but the part I resent is the portrayal of a non-existent idyllic lifestyle in small rural NC town without the recognition of the rampant poverty that exists in such towns.The notion that a small, apparently all white rural NC town would hero worship a black man, making him their spiritual, civic, and legal leader is preposterous. Furthermore, it is most unlikely that in NC, a black man would have been allowed to adopt white children in the 80's, or even now for that matter.That a Yankee would find such an immediate welcome in a small NC town is questionable.The idea that providing leftovers from a pancake breakfast to those in need is a laudable act worth mentioning in an area where one in four children is undernourished in abominable.I could rant on, but I won't.

Even though the town bought a very small plot of land around the cross to get around the law, they were the bad guys who were made to look good in this filmAlso what is wrong with eating good food. Sushi is made fun of in this film along with lattes and all the things considered uppity Why was there only one black person in the town Why did the streets look busy When only 321 people lived thereWhy does going to church make you a good person When you are serving peopleThis movie is not worth your time but the start is cute
