jhmoondance I've read the original book and seen countless movies on this.Totally crap! 2 stars for the actor portraying the monster.Totally crap and disappointing!
Chas Newport As soon as you see an animal in a movie you know they're going to kill it. It's either to make you angry with the bad guys as in John Wicke or to create sympathy for the protagonist as is the intention here. It's lazy writing and it sickens me. What you're actually doing is alienating the animal lovers in your audience. There's actually a website called "Did the Dog Die" with the specific purpose of reducing the audience of the lazy writers who do this to zero. Sadly I failed to check it as I wasn't expecting a dog.
jacobjohntaylor1 This is a very scary movie. 5.1 is underrating this movie. I give it 9 out of 10. This movie has a great story line. It also has great acting. It also has great special effects. Frankenstein (1931) is better. Bride of Frankenstein is better. But still this is a great movie. See it. See will scary you out of your mind. Son of Frankenstein is better. Frankenstein (1994) is better. Ghost of Frankenstein is also better. But this is a very scary movie. If it does not scary you then no movie will scary you. This is an awesome movie. Cures of Frankenstein is also better. But still this movie is a must see. Lady Frankenstein is better. But still is a great horror film.
Robert Terry The biggest mistake in this film is the final moment of the final scene, which is a bit too much like Darth Vader screaming "NOOooOOOooo!!" at the end of Episode III. Other than that, the film is remarkably restrained and allows mostly quality performances to link together this telling of the classic Frankenstein tale in modern LA. The newest wrinkle is the use of Elizabeth as a Freudian motivation for Adam, which mostly works and allows for an interesting psychoanalytic representation of the classic story.Otherwise, Xavier Samuel is very good as Adam, providing a restrained but effective performance as the Monster/Adam and generating significant pathos for the poor but terribly violent soul.
