sherripadgitt-55536 I enjoyed the movie for the first 45 minutes. After that it was muddled up with authorities bashing the party, so to speak. I see this film as a love story first, but without much emotion. You don't feel the love in this movie like you would others for comparison. With age progression in three spurts we are shown the interactions between a girl and a boy, but all for experimentation purposes. With both of them coming to the age where most of the movie occurs, we are filled with complex riddles and words which determines our actions, of which these actions are already predetermined beforehand, but you don't become aware of that until later on in the film.I was left with my final thoughts on this film: It is a stupidly complex film without emotion, supposedly trying to make you think that life and the universe is just a code with all of our thoughts/actions/feelings being predetermined by such code. The love story was dull to say the least and the explanation at the end is missing much.
KentaroK When I first saw reviews for Frequencies, I was thinking that the high praise and comparisons to Primer would only lead to my disappointment. Indeed, I would not compare it to Primer as it has zero time travel (although the story is told from different perspectives, this is more like Vantage Point than like any time- travel movie). It is driven by a few main characters, and slowly explains the setting, in a gentle, engrossing manner. Due to this, it is best to watch this when you won't be distracted, like at home with friends who like to be challenged or gently stimulated by movies, rather than distracted by fast-paced actions or shaky camera work. In other words, it is an elite movie, for the elites of armchair general society, and not for the temporary couch potato who has no mental energy to invest in a movie. That is all I will say because to say more might be to spoil it.Not only did I enjoy it, but I rate it a perfect 10/10, very very enjoyable, re-watchable, and has some concepts worth considering.
tudor-alexandru This is a horrible movie, with a good trailer. Actually the trailer gives away the main parts of the plot, and you're better off skipping the movie. The dialogue feels forced and unnatural, there are plenty of clever references to historic and scientific figures, but without any real connection to the film. There is no such thing as character development, and the long and boring explanation at the end really just patronizes at you so much it made me want to club baby seals. The movie has horrible pace, and it manages to be overly-complicated, stupid and condescending at the same time through its questionable editing. Had it been a one hour film I may have enjoyed it. A disgusting piece of crap, spare yourself the trouble and see something else.
Gyx The one n only I only handed out a handful of "10's". This movie truly deserves it! Don't be scared by "romance" in the description if you don't like that in a movie. Although it's the red-thread, it's the mystery and science-fiction that is the main theme. The movie starts with some concepts while introducing the main characters as children. Some might be pushed away from the movie here because of the complexity of the concepts. But if you like mystery, philosophy and science and use your brain during a movie while being entertained: this is the best movie of the decade. I really can't think of any movie even coming close to such a brilliant and original one. Maybe "cube" ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 ). But that's more of a thriller and completely different. Please watch this movie, you will remember it for the rest of your life.
