lukem-52760 Part 2 is AWESOME!!! A really well made dark & menacing Horror film that is nearly if not better than the first FILM!!! Jason looks great in this like some sort of hillbilly redneck mutant & you can see this film inspired Wrong Turn (2003) by the look of Jason & a scene where the final girl is hiding under a bed, wrong turn almost completely copied that scene but that's not a complaint as i love Wrong Turn IT'S a brilliant Horror but Hate all the silly sequels. Anyway friday part 2 has a cool sense of dread & a scary mutant Jason & some cool characters like Paul that guy was actually a good character who i wanted to live!!! A great sequel & film in it's own right that yeah i think is better than the first film.
Smoreni Zmaj "Friday the 13th Part 2" begins with the only survivor from the previous film, dreaming a brief overview of the most important moments of this cult horror. This introductory part will not mean much to those who did not watch the first film, while it will only bore those who did. Then follows the film so boring that I barely made myself to see it through. The film itself is not so bad and, if I did not watch the first part, I would probably rate it five out of ten. But since I watched the first movie recently, and this one does not bring anything new, but merely continues pouring sand in the desert, I was terribly bored. Almost identical story with almost identical characters, only with the new cast. This looks more like a remake than a sequel, and making a remake a year after the original does not make much sense.3,5/10
Julian R. White Well, I have to hand it to them, this one captured my attention a lot more than the original film. While it's quite obvious they didn't necessarily plan it as much, the use of abstract craziness makes it a lot more watchable. I noticed in one scene, a woman's throat is cut with the back of the machete. That was funny, seeing as that side of a machete isn't sharp. There was also a weird scene where a woman is hiding from Jason under a bed, and begins urinating for..seemingly no reason other than the fact she sees a rat under the bed with her and may be frightened by it. I'm not a big fan of rats either, but to begin peeing on myself out of the blue seems a bit much. Overall though it was definitely a watchable and enjoyable movie. It makes me feel a bit better about watching the rest of these in the future.
barrosjared Visual: The cinematography in this movie is very well shot, unlike the first film were the scenes sometimes go on for too long. The lake is beautifully shot, the darkness in the chase scene is lighten enough where you know what is going on.Acting: The main characters are Paul Holt(John Furey)and Ginny Field(Amy Steel), the two are much better than Adrienne King and Kevin Bacon, you can feel a relationship between the two. Ginny manages to hold off against Jason, Paul also helps her defeat him. When Paul tells the story of Jason, it has a campy feel to it.Kills: The kills are not as advanced as Tom Savini, but they do their job, the spear through the back and the machete through the head are very well executed and suspenseful. Some are cut off do to an X rating they originally had.The Killer: The little boy from the first movie is fully grown and back for the sequel, he is very scary with the burlap sack and pitchfork. Unlike the next movie onward, Jason actually is more human and that is what makes it more of a scenario that you could be in. When he is finally unmasked at the very end, Jason's face isn't taken too far and it fits just right being there.Overall: Suspenseful, Viscerally Thrilling, Better Characters, and less pointless scenes. I give it the rare for a low-budget film a 10/10
