Reviews

Julian R. White With as incredibly infuriating it is to see Jason constantly getting back up regardless of what he gets hit or chopped up or burned with or whatever, the end was a relief. Though, just throwing this out there, 4 more movies left, I'm guessing hes still not dead. Oh well. Anyways, the movie was fairly decent, apart from a few scenes where you just kinda go "seriously?". Who honestly screams "hes killing me!" when violently being murdered? Just kinda seemed farfetched. I liked the second movie the best so far, but we'll see how well the rest go.
Ilikehorrormovies I enjoy this alot more than the first and it's alot of fun! The death scenes are creative like always. You know the pros out weigh the cons like this is a must watch for FT13 fans. The story is great, the writting is flawless, the acting is convincing, good characters, and good pacing. Tommy Jarvis is the best character since Jason Voohress and his mother. The supense in this movie is great like you don't know who's gonna die or not. This is my reveiw on Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), it's the best out of the franchies!
Platypuschow Friday 13th 1-3 I considered to be generic camp slashers which didn't live up to the iconic legacy that the franchise has built up. This 4th part however was an improvement and I actually quite enjoyed it.This time with a couple of familiar faces in Crispin Glover and child star legend Corey Feldman the movie actually had a bit of a storyline which the previous ones didn't. Thin storyline absolutely but a storyline all the same.I didn't entirely understand the logic of the movies finale but everything else was well enough done and though the film pales in comparison to the same years Nightmare On Elm Street it's still a decent slasher feature. The Good: Vastly improved death scenes Actually has a story The Bad:Still pretty naff in places Weak ending Things I Learnt From This Movie: If a rubber dinghy gets run through with a machete it'll continue to float because physics Harpoon gun up the bum is a hell of a way to go
barrosjared Makeup and The Gore: In a slasher film, you half to have enough detail in the kills to make the audience feel disgusting inside. The "Final Chapter" has legendary makeup artist Tom Savini who worked on the first film. They have aged and some are a little ridiculous, example Jason's fingernails and hands when he lifts someone off the ground or takes out the power in the house, they are too cheesy and prosthetic to be scary moments. There are some favorable kills in this movie like when he kills Glover and throws a girl out of a window, plus Jason rolling down the machete was well executed.Characters: The characters in this movie don't do much except party, have sex, break up with each-other, and die by Jason. When this fourth film comes around, it is the same thing over again. In one scene a guy is in love with a girl just like that without us feeling that he likes her. Then his ex-girlfriend goes on a raft, Jason springs out and murders her. He leaves his girlfriend to check on his ex and he gets into the water trying to scare her but ends up being murdered. There is no chemistry in this film, sure the Jarvis family is in this movie but I don't feel for them, even with Rob who had the most background with Jason which could have been something. Rob even tells her in the tent that in the local morgue, two people were killed and the killer's body was missing, she then realizes her stupid decision to leave her brother at the house alone, but at first, she thinks someone stole his body after that happened. When Jason finally kills Rob, she runs back up the stairs and then after a minute goes back down, she saw him being hit by a fire poker over and over again. In this movie, you wish Jason kills them all, that would have been a better movie to end the series instead of someone defeating him again.Jason Voorhees: Jason in this movie is still a human, but that has to be taken loosely because he goes to the morgue after an ax wound to the head and being hung by Chris in Part 3, he just gets up and starts running around again like nothing happened. I like Ted White's movement when playing this character, he is tall and menacing. What makes him scary to me is that when Rob goes outside the tent and looks around with a machete and then after a few seconds Jason bends his rifle barrel with his bare hand in a second. The only part I don't get is why doesn't he just crush Rob, if he could bend solid steel, then imagine what he could do to your bones. When he finally engages the siblings, he is hit by a hammer in the neck, and throws the hammer towards them which sticks against a wall. Then he is hit over the head with a computer monitor, but doesn't die, in real life that would kill somebody and if they survived they would be paralyzed. Jason is virtually indestructible, he continues to endure machete strikes to his hand and chest without dropping, it is when he is hit in the head by Tommy that he collapses, though he starts to revive once again like when he was hit by a computer monitor, until he is hacked apart by Tommy does he actually die.Overall: The movie doesn't think outside of the box, the characters have no chemistry, some of the gore is mediocre, Jason's face is too deformed, and it has pointless scenes, I give this 5/10
