SeriousMayhem When the trailer arrived some time ago, I quickly became very enthusiastic. Then later the ratings came in, and I decided not to bother with this movie at all anymore. Until now, and I've set my expectations to "low".As it turns out, it's not a good movie indeed, but it's also not nearly as bad as some of the ratings suggest.The CGI is actually quite decent, especially if you consider the apparent budget they had to work with. It's not always on par with any latest Hollywood/Marvel blockbuster, but it will blow anything else out of the water easily. The only real distracting factor for me was the rendering of the half man/half bear character. It just didn't work well and I feel if they just went "full bear" it would have been a lot better. The action sequences are mostly very well done.The acting was mostly average but a little wooden quite a few times. I think this has more to do with the directing of the movie, rather than the acting itself - it is often very cheesy.Story-wise, it's nothing special, which means it's exactly what most other movies in the same genre are as well. It works, and that's it. The characters are all likeable, and even when their powers itself are not always that unique (a guy with a sword is a guy with a sword), it still manages to bring some uniqueness to the table that felt quite refreshing, especially if you compare it to some of the latest Hollywood/Marvel movies.The thing that bothered me most, and what ultimately brought me to the low rating, is that the characters are not developed at all. You don't get to know anything about them, their motivations, their backgrounds. Each character is introduced in a short scene. These introductions are nicely made, but it's too short and it seems to be more of a vessel to show off something visually rather than to actually tell us something about the characters.In the end, all of the characters are just "there" on the screen, and so underdeveloped that you just can't care about them, even when the movie tries to make you care for them in the later parts of it.It all feels very rushed and with only 90 minutes of runtime, I feel an extra 30 or so minutes of character development would have helped the movie tremendously.5/10.

kaefab So its not going to win an Oscars, but it surely does not deserve a 3.9. From what the rating says its as bad as the awful Asylum sci fi horror movies.First off the special effects are top notch, maybe people hate it because its a Russian movie big deal, the women are super hot, the acting is good, its a sci fi action super hero movie so. The villain was cool and it reminds me a lot of League of extraordinary Gentlemen.Its really sad that it got a low rating like this because many people will shy away from the movie.This is not a fake review, i enjoyed the movie, i enjoy all super hero movie even the DC justice league.

uirangs The Russian equivalent of a Michael Bay movie, with way less money, of course. It is not a good super heroes movie, but it is quite entertaining and not as bad as the ratings here indicate. And it is far much better than any of the Fantastic Four movies or Suicide Squad. The CGI could be better, but one have to keep in mind this is a Russian movie, made with only a tiny fraction of the budget Hollywood movies have available.
