bbickley13-921-58664 Proving that not everything that has the tag of Quentin Tarantino on it is good was Hell Ride. When I saw the poster at my local movie theater ages ago, I was so bummed that I missed it at the theaters, but now that I saw it...I'll give it credit for the large amount of pointless nudity in it. The movie has a nice smorgasbord of eye candy.Micheal Madsen rocks as a biker wearing a tux, that was unique I'll give you that, and although having such counter culture icons as Dennis Hopper and David Carradine carry your picture was a great idea, there has to be more picture to carry. If there is a story I did not get it. The movie plays out more as a series of events that don't link together no where near as good as if Tarantino helmed the director's chair himself.Because of Tarantino's attachment to this movie I feel kinda lame about not getting it. I don't recall any of the late 60s early 70's biker films writer and director and star Larry Bishop was in, and if this movie authentically pays homage to that, I'm not interested in seeing them.In all fairness,if this movie was really that good it would not matter what genre it pays homage to, but it's not. I didn't get it. The only thing I got was the nudity, and that was not enough (it should be but it wasn't).
Sühan Gürer My hopes were not exceptionally high for this movie after our last episodes with Mr. Tarantino and I was honestly expecting a black comedy style criticism as the main theme of the movie. Boy, I was wrong, so wrong. Someone should tell Tarantino that he should be done with this theme and its time to move on for him (And us also). The characters are out of place, even the well established actor villains that are in the cast who could have done much better had the story been a little more acceptable. It is so dull that I could have had more fun watching Ninja Turtles or Gremlins (The original versions btw). That is some achievement. Anyway, 80 minutes lost, gone and will never return.
chow913 Aptly Named Make no mistake that EVERY last second of this film is nails on a chalkboard! I like biker actions movies and 'Hellride' boasts an impressive cast including Michael Madsen, David Carradine, Dennis Hopper and more. But 'Hellride' is devoid of ANY redeeming values. It's a mere 'Kill Bill' rip off. And a bad one at that. Don't even give this film a chance. It goes nowhere slowly. There's nothing more to say but IMDb requires at least ten lines. Here's the eleventh line.
Vomitron_G 'Hell Ride' absolutely doesn't do any effort in trying to hide that it's a wannabe Tarantino piece of nonsense (both the DVD cover and opening credits proudly scream "Quentin Tarantino presents..."). So, at least the film's pretty honest about this. In more than one way, this movie delivers what it promises (violence, female nudity, revenge, drug use, big bikes and then some). But it's not a great film or anything. The plot just hums around in circles and I didn't even mind it. Michael Madsen has a leading role. Dennis Hopper is not wasted on this one. David Carradine only has a cameo. And Vinnie Jones has no idea what he's doing in this film, except for looking mean. And there's an enormous amount of beautiful women in it. Considered that this is a biker movie, that's not realistic at all. Oh well.
