Filipe Neto This film is set in the end of the Ice Age and is a sequel to "Ice Age". In this film, the animals will have to survive and head out of the glacier, which is melting quickly. Directed by Carlos Saldanha, has voice actors like Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah and Denis Leary. This film is not recommended for people who did not like much of the original film, it is basically more of the same, with the aggravating circumstance of the story is not so interesting, although it is easier to understand for young children. The central characters are the same who carried out the original film, and the criticism did still apply: Diego and Manfred are the most mature and interesting, while Sid continues spoiling the film with uninteresting jokes and stupid scenes. Scrat is still funny, but it cannot hold the film alone (well, he didn't even hold his nut for long...). To this set now comes a female mammoth Ellie, and a couple of pretty funny possums, capable of good moments of humor. The work of animators is regular and fulfills its role. The voice actors did a good job, particularly Queen Latifah, that gave Ellie a very sonorous voice, feminine and pleasant to hear. The soundtrack does not stand out in the film.
Taylor Kingston I really like this movie. It's just as good as the first one, which made me really happy. It's always depressing when a sequel isn't anywhere near as good as the original, but this was definitely not the case.In this movie, our unlikely heroes and friends are back. Sid, Manny and Diego discover that the ice Age is coming to an end, and literally, everything is melting. They join everyone on their journey for higher ground, as a lot of water will be everywhere soon. Whilst on the trip, Manny discovers that he isn't the last woolly mammoth, as he meets Ellie, a beautiful female mammoth. Overall, I give this movie a 9 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Amazing.
SnoopyStyle The three friends find their valley is about to be flooded from all the surrounding ice melt. Manny (Ray Romano) is starting to wonder if he truly is the last mammoth, when he meets Ellie (Queen Latifah). Only she thinks she's a possum, with her possum brothers Crash (Seann William Scott) and Eddie (Josh Peck). Manny along with Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) must lead the group to safety at the other end of the valley. It's a good sequel to this kids franchise. I like the group chemistry most of all. There is limited laughs for adults but little kids do love it. Sid continues to be my favorite. I bet he's a fan favorite for most. The group battles not only time, but also a prehistoric sea creature. It provides some good action. I would definitely recommend this for the kids, but less so for the adults.
kiddcarl-cornell Having seen 2002's "Ice Age" with my entire family, we enjoyed it dearly and we knew that there would most likely be a sequel. When 20th Century-F0X announced that a sequel was in the works over at the studio, we were excited. We couldn't wait to see our favorite trio again on the big screen! Once the film came out, we enjoyed every second of it, laughing out loud at all the hilarious moments, including Scrat (the saber-tooth squirrel)'s mishaps with his beloved acorn. He's even more nuts than he was in the first film (pun intended)! In this sequel, we are introduced to three new characters, Ellie the Shemoth (played by Queen Latifah of "Living Single" and "Living Out Loud" fame), a female mammoth who is deluded and thinks she's a possum (much like how throughout much of the 1st Toy Story, Buzz thought he was an actual space ranger, not a toy, until he realizes later on that he IS a toy), who is Manny's love interest as Manny was having stress about the fact the he may be the last of his kind, and Ellie's two possum brothers, Crash (played by Seann William Scott, of "American Pie" fame) and Eddie (played by Josh Peck of Nickelodeon fame). If you enjoyed the first Ice Age, you'll love The Meltdown!! With it's mind-blowing animation and over-the top humor, you and your entire family will laugh out loud until you can't LOL no more!
